Sioux Center, Iowa – Sophomore pitcher Hailey Wesner (Oak Forest, Ill./Oak Forest) threw her first collegiate complete game in her first start of the 2025 season, while freshman infielder Danielle Goodman (Poplar Grove, Ill./North Boone) made her collegiate debut, cracking a three-run home run to help Saint Xavier University softball (2-2/0-0 CCAC) defeat Waldorf University (Iowa) 11-2 in six innings Sunday afternoon at the American State Bank Sports Complex in Sioux Center, Iowa. Wesner allowed just four hits over 6.0 innings with two earned runs given up, a walk and a career-high seven strikeouts. Goodman went 1-for-3 with a walk making the start at third base.

• Junior outfielder Fiona Crane (Evergreen Park, Ill./Northern Illinois/Mother McAuley) tied the single-game program record with four stolen bases for the second time this season, while also going 1-for-2 with two runs and two walks.
• Sophomore infielder Aubrey Wroble (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) was 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, an RBI and a run scored.
• Junior outfielder Haley Matlock (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport) had two hits in three at-bats with two RBI and a pair of runs.
• Junior infielder Mallory O'Connor (Bourbonnais, Ill./Olivet Nazarene/Bishop McNamara) also was 2-for-3 with two RBI.
• Sophomore pinch-hitter Yalitza Lovan (Pleasant Hill, Iowa/Dowling Catholic) drove in a pair of runs along with a run scored.
• Sophomore designated player Yalayzah Lovan (Pleasant Hill, Iowa/Dowling Catholic) had a hit in three trips to the plate with two runs, an RBI and a walk.
• SXU took a 3-0 lead in the top of the 1^st when Yalayzah Lovan drove in a run on a fielder's choice and O'Connor lined a two-run single.
• In the top of the 2^nd, Wroble picked up an RBI on a bunt single and she scored on Matlock's RBI base hit.
• Waldorf smacked a two-run double to get on the board in the bottom of the 5^th.
• Saint Xavier responded with six runs in the next half inning. Matlock sliced an RBI single to left field, Yalitza Lovan laced a two-run base hit to center field and Goodman launched a three-run home run.
• Wesner rolled three groundouts to end the game in the bottom of the 6^th.

Saint Xavier (2-2/0-0 CCAC) participates in the Roosevelt University Dome Tournament starting on Saturday, February 15. The Cougars play Lawrence Tech University at 9:30 am, followed by a match-up with Aquinas College at 12:00 pm in Rosemont, Ill.
