Matlock Guides No. 19 SXU to Two Wins over SAU

Davenport, Iowa – Junior outfielder Haley Matlock (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport) hit a two-run single in game one, and she slugged a two-run double along with sacrifice fly in game to help guide the No. 19 ranked Saint Xavier University softball team (25-6/8-0 CCAC) to a pair of victories over St. Ambrose University (Iowa) in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) doubleheader Wednesday afternoon in Davenport, Iowa. Matlock and sophomore catcher Natalie Johnson (Bourbonnais, Ill./Grand Valley State/Bradley-Bourbonnais), who had an RBI single aided sophomore pitcher Lily Strand (Evergreen Park, Ill./Saint Louis/Evergreen Park) in earning her 10th win of the season in a 5-2 win in the first game.
