Ashland, Ore. – The No. 2 seeded Saint Xavier University softball team (37-8/16-0 CCAC) saw its 2025 season come to an end Wednesday afternoon in the NAIA Opening Round Ashland Bracket after being eliminated by No. 5 The College of Idaho by a score of 4-2 in Ashland, Ore. Sophomore outfielder
Aubrey Wroble (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) finished the game 2-for-3 with a pair of base hits. Wroble became the first player in program history to bat over .500 in a season (minimum 100 at-bats) collecting a .516 average in 155 at-bats (80-for-155) and she became just the third player for the Cougars, and the fourth time overall, to come away with 80 or more hits in a season. Wroble joins a pair of SXU Hall of Famers in Georgia McGuire (1985-88) who had 80 hits in 1988 and Colleen Kilduff (2003-06), who had 82 hits in 2003 and the team record of 86 hits in 2004.
It was the fourth time in the last five seasons that Saint Xavier has finished the season with 35 or more wins, the best stretch for the school since a run of five consecutive seasons from 2012-2016. Head coach
Erin Mollohan has guided the Cougars to the NAIA Opening Round seven times in her nine seasons at the helm, missing out only in her first season as head coach in 2017 and the COVID-19 Pandemic cancelled season when SXU was 19-3.

- Junior outfielder Haley Matlock (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport) picked up an RBI despite going 0-for-3.
