Mobile, Ala. – The Saint Xavier University softball team (11-9/0-0 CCAC) concluded its Spring trip losing a pair of games to No. 20 ranked University of Mobile (Ala.) Tuesday afternoon in Mobile, Ala. Redshirt sophomore infielder Jazmyn Casas (Berwyn, Ill./Illinois-Chicago/Taft) slugged a two-run home run in a 6-3 defeat in game one. Senior infielder Mallory O'Connor (Bourbonnais, Ill./Olivet Nazarene/Bishop McNamara) cracked an RBI double for the Cougars in a 3-1 loss in game two.

Game One:

• Senior outfielder Fiona Crane (Evergreen Park, Ill./Northern Illinois/Mother McAuley) went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base.
• Junior infielder Aubrey Wroble (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) also went 2-for-3 with an RBI, a run and a steal.
• Sophomore designated player Isabelle Poortenga (Dyer, Ind./Lewis/Lake Central) singled twice in two at-bats with a walk.
• Junior pitcher Lily Strand (Evergreen Park, Ill./Saint Louis/Evergreen Park) went the distance (5-5), pitching 6.0 innings with 10 hits, six earned runs, six walks and three strikeouts.
• An RBI single in the bottom of the 1^st gave UM an early lead. They added two runs in the bottom of the 4^th with a two-run double.
• Wroble drove in a run on an infield single and Casas hammered her third home run of the season, a two-run blast, to tie the game at 3-3 in the top of the 5^th.
• The Rams re-took the lead on an RBI double and a two-run base hit in the bottom half of the inning.
• SXU brought the tying run to the plate with one out, and two runners in scoring position, in the top of the 7^th, however they could not cash in after flying out and lining out to end the game.

Game Two:

• O'Connor was 2-for-2 with a walk.
• Crane finished 1-for-4 with a stolen base.
• Sophomore pitcher Payton Antkiewicz (Dyer, Ind./Hanover Central) threw a complete game, logging 6.0 innings, allowing six hits, three runs (two earned), five walks and striking out three batters to fall to 5-3 in the circle.
• An error allowed a run to score in the bottom of the 3^rd to put Mobile up 1-0.
• O'Connor lined an RBI double to the gap in right center to tie the game in the top of the 4^th.
• UM pulled off a double steal to go up 2-1 in the bottom of the 4^th.
• The Rams added an RBI double in the bottom of the 5^th.
• Saint Xavier had two runners in scoring position with the go-ahead run at the plate with two outs in the top of the 6^th, but Mobile got out of the jam after an extended at-bat resulted in a strikeout.

Saint Xavier (11-9/0-0 CCAC) begins Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) competition on Friday, March 20 when they start a three-game series with Judson University (Ill.). Game one is slated for a 3:00 pm start in Elgin, Ill., before shifting to SXU for a doubleheader on Saturday, March 21, starting at 12:00 pm.
