• Michael Kay is in his second season leading the Saint Xavier men’s and women’s bowling programs in 2018-19, and has been the team’s head coach since the programs’ inception in 2017.
• In his first season as head coach, Kay helped lead the women’s program to an NAIA Invitational berth, where the Cougars placed 12th out of 20 qualifying programs.
• The Cougars have claimed two individual tournament titles under Kay’s watch, with Destiny Miller wining the 2017 Titan Invite, and the 2018 Boilermaker Classic.
• Before coming to Saint Xavier, Kay was an assistant coach at the University of St. Francis (Ill.), where he helped start the Fighting Saints’ program that began in 2013.
• Kay was the boys and girls bowling coach at Romeoville High School for five seasons, from 2008-12.
• Kay has been a member of the United States Bowling Congress since 2003, and has four sanctioned 300 games, with 221 as his highest average.
• A graduate of North Central College (Ill.), Kay played both soccer and baseball for the Cardinals. He received a master’s degree in teaching from National Louis University (Ill.).
