Tyler Reinhardt

Reinhardt is starting his second season here at Saint Xavier University. Joining the Cougars staff in 2025 as the new Defensive Coordinator, he overhauled the SXU defense and introduced a physical, fast paced defense. Reinhardt was recognized for his exciting new defensive scheme and was named Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Midwest League Co-Assistant Coach of the Year in his first year.

His defense had an impressive first year, leading the MSFA in yards per game (316.5) and rushing yards per game (82.2 and No. 4 in the NAIA), taking second in the league in points per game (21.8) and Sacks (36 and tied for No. 2 in the NAIA), stacking up 13 interceptions and 23 forced fumbles, and achieving one shut out at University of St. Francis (Ill.). Reinhardt's Cougar defense also saw individual success in 2025, receiving 7 All-Conference Defensive selections (tied for second most in the MSFA) and the Co-Defensive Player of the Conference award for Terry Elias. He also coached two NAIA All-Americans, Terry Elias (1st Team) and Chris Swayne (Honorable Mention).

Prior to joining Saint Xavier, he coached the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Pioneers. Reinhart joined the UWP staff in 2021 as a Defensive Assistant Coach and the Director of Football Operations. He coached four seasons at UW-Platteville, ultimately holding the positions of Defensive Backs and Kickoff Team Coach, as well as Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. In his time with the Pioneers, Reinhardt coached six Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) All-Conference defensive backs and one All-Region defensive back.

Before starting his coaching career, he was a four-year letter winner at UW-Platteville. He was a two-time All-WIAC selection, Team Captain, and George Chryst Game Award Winner for the Pioneers. Reinhardt graduated from Wisconsin-Platteville in 2021 with a degree in Health and Human Performance and received his Master’s in Sports Administration from Arkansas State University in 2022.
