Louisa Schreiber (Bonndorf, Germany/Morton/Hans-Thoma-Schule) netted her team-leading fourth goal of the season, however the Saint Xavier University women's soccer team (3-1-3, 1-1-1 CCAC) suffered its first loss of the season in a 3-1 setback to St. Ambrose University (Iowa) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play Saturday afternoon in Davenport, Iowa. Schreiber led the Cougar offense with four shot attempts and had two shots on goal.
- Junior goalkeeper Eden Suda (Western Springs, Ill./Governors State/Lyons Township) registered five saves for SXU in the first half.
- Freshman goalkeeper Natalie Dybas (La Grange, Ill./Lyons Township) started the second half and posted four saves for SXU.
- Junior forward Esmeralda Diaz (Chicago, Ill./Solorio Academy) finished with two shot attempts on 64 minutes of action.
- The Fighting Bees took a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 17th minute, and they would add another tally in the 23rd minute to hold a 2-0 advantage after the first 45 minutes of play.
- Schreiber cut the deficit in half with her goal in the 48th minute.
- SAU pulled away with a goal in the 56th minute to push its lead to 3-1 and to secure the conference win.
Saint Xavier (3-1-3/1-1-1 CCAC) is on the road to take on Roosevelt University (Ill.) in CCAC action on Wednesday, September 27 in Arlington Heights, Ill. The match is scheduled for a 7:00 pm start.
