South Bend, Ind. – Despite a team-best 21 points from senior guard
Bethany Baldwin (Watersmeet, Mich./Finlandia/Triton/Watersmeet) the Saint Xavier University women's basketball team (7-7, 5-2 CCAC) dropped a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) matchup to No. 21 Indiana University South Bend by a 73-66 margin Wednesday evening at the Student Activities Center in South Bend, Ind. Baldwin was an efficient 7-for-9 from the field and went 6-for-7 from the foul line. She also added five rebounds and an assist in 34 minutes of action on the court.
- Junior forward Alyssa Crenshaw (Algonquin, Ill./Dundee Crown) recorded her second consecutive double-double and her third of the season with 13 points and a game-best 11 rebounds. She also had an assist, a block and a steal.
- Junior guard Aaliyahna Derrell (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sand Creek) collected nine points, five assists and three steals.
- Sophomore guard Jaidn Green (Evansville, Ind./Evansville North) tallied seven points, two rebounds, an assist and a steal in 27 minutes of play.
- Junior guard Jenna Hernandez (Homer Glen, Ill./Joliet Catholic Academy) had six points, two rebounds and a steal in 24 minutes off the bench.
- Sophomore center Eleanor Harris (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) pulled down eight rebounds, along with five points, an assist and a steal.
- The Titans attempted more foul shots than the Cougars, making 25-of-30 attempts to SXU's 8-for-11.
Saint Xavier (7-7/5-2 CCAC) makes the short trip to Whiting, Ind. to take on Calumet College of St. Joseph in a CCAC contest on Saturday, January 13. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 pm tipoff.
