CHICAGO – Freshman forward James Stevenson (Sun River Terrace, Ill./Momence) recorded his first collegiate double-double, pouring 21 points and grabbing a career-high 11 rebounds, while shooting at a 75.0 percent clip (9-for-12) to help give the Saint Xavier University men's basketball team (14-7, 9-4 CCAC) an 84-59 victory over Trinity Christian College (Ill.) in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) matchup Wednesday evening on Bob Hallberg Court at the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill. Stevenson also added two steals and an assist in 26 minutes of action on the court. It was the third time in the last four games that he has tallied 20 or more points.

The Cougars were 33-for-66 (50.0 percent) from the floor, the ninth time this season that they have shot 50.0 percent or better in a game. They also pulled down 40 rebounds, the sixth time this year they have eclipsed 40 or more rebounds in a contest. SXU also came away with 13 steals, third-most this season, just two behind their season-best of 15 against Judson University on November 29, 2023.

• Junior guard Sando Hill (Vanoss, Okla./Lyon/Seminole State/Vanoss) filled the box score with 16 points on 7-for-9 shooting, with five assists, four rebounds and four steals.
• Senior guard Julian Barr (Tinley Park, Ill./Lincoln Land/Lincoln-Way East) scored a season-high 15 points while going 6-for-10 from the floor and 3-for-6 from beyond the arc. He also tied his season-best with six rebounds, four assists and he had a steal.
• Junior forward Andre Brandon (Coralville, Iowa/Sauk Valley/Liberty) was the fourth player for Saint Xavier to record 10 or more points, finishing with 10. He added eight rebounds, two assists, a blocked shot and a steal.
• Senior guard Steven Ukiteyedi (Gaithersburg, Md./Allegheny/UMBC/Quince Orchard) collected eight points, four rebounds and two steals in 15 minutes off the bench.
• Freshman guard Jordan Streeter (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young) tallied seven points, three rebounds, a career-best three steals and a block.
• Redshirt freshman guard Mason Kibelkis (Peotone, Ill./Peotone) recorded six points and he handed out an assist, while freshman forward Marko Tojagic (Belgrade, Serbia/Saint Andrews) chipped in two points and a rebound.

Saint Xavier (14-7, 9-4 CCAC) travels to Gary, Ind. to take on Indiana University Northwest in a CCAC contest on Saturday, February 3. The game is slated for a 3:00 pm start.
