Team Attack Guides Saint Xavier to 76-32 Win over TCC

CHICAGO – All 12 players who suited up for  Saint Xavier University women's basketball (11-9, 9-4 CCAC) scored at least two points, led by a game-best and career-high 16 points from freshman forward Delaney Panozzo (Grant Park, Ill./Grant Park), as the Cougars defeated Trinity Christian College (Ill.) 76-32 in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) contest Wednesday evening on Bob Hallberg Court at the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill. Panozzo finished 7-for-9 from the field, grabbed six rebounds and came away with a block and a steal in just 17 minutes of action.

SXU held the Trolls to since digits in three of the four quarters while holding a 48-5 lead at halftime. Saint Xavier forced 22 turnovers, converting them into 27 points, and collected 14 steals. It was the 14th time that they have recorded 10 or more steals in a game this season. The Cougars also limited Trinity Christian to just 18.5 shooting (10-for-54) from the floor, the second time this year they have held an opponent under 20.0 percent shooting.
  • Senior guard Bethany Baldwin (Watersmeet, Mich./Finlandia/Triton/Watersmeet) also scored in double-figures, totaling 10 points of 5-for-7 shooting. She also had five rebounds, four steals and two assists.
  • Sophomore guard Jaidn Green (Evansville, Ind./Evansville North) had nine points, three rebounds, an assist and a steal in just 12 minutes.
  • Sophomore center Eleanor Harris (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) tallied eight points after she made four of her five shot attempts. She added three rebounds, three steals and a blocked shot.
  • Junior forward Sofie Carr (Indianapolis, Ind./Roncalli) registered seven rebounds, six points, an assist and a block in 17 minutes off the bench.
  • Freshman Sarah Barakat (Hickory Hills, Ill./Stagg) recorded six points and a pair of rebounds.
  • Junior guard Jenna Hernandez (Homer Glen, Ill./Joliet Catholic Academy) also scored six points and pulled down a rebound.
  • Junior guard Aaliyahna Derrell (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sand Creek) handed out five assists, along with five points and three steals.
  • Freshman guard Emma Clark (Rockton, Ill./Hononegah Community) hauled in a career-best seven rebounds with three points, two assists and a steal.
  • Sophomore forward Kaliah Neighbors (Evansville, Ind./Evansville North) tied her career-high with three blocked shots and added three points, two rebounds and an assist.
  • Junior forward Alyssa Crenshaw (Algonquin, Ill./Dundee Crown) corralled eight rebounds with two points and an assist in just 12 minutes.
  • Sophomore guard Lia Chudzik (Pewaukee, Wis./Pewaukee) dished out a career-best eight assists while adding two points, a rebound and a steal.
Saint Xavier (11-9/9-4 CCAC) makes the short trip to Gary, Ind. to face Indiana University Northwest on Saturday, February 3 in CCAC action. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 pm tipoff.
