Ayobami Arokoyo (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg) set a program single-game record with three fumble recoveries. He also had five tackles (three solos) and 2.0 tackles for loss for three yards. Saint Francis had a narrow edge in total offense, 362-325. SXU held the advantage on the ground, rushing for 149 yards to USF's 50.
- Junior quarterback Dominic D'Ambrosio (Oak Forest, Ill./Andrew) made his first collegiate start and threw for 176 yards on 15-for-36 passing with a touchdown and three interceptions. He added 22 rushing attempts for 48 yards.
- Junior running back Tyreese Lee (Chicago, Ill./Moraine Valley/Eisenhower) led Saint Xavier with 60 rushing yards on 10 carries.
- Graduate student wide receiver Julian Smith (Glenwood, Ill./Jackson State/Calumet New Tech) came away with a team-best five receptions for 58 yards, along with 71 kickoff return yards and six punt return yards for 135 all-purpose yards.
- Fifth-year senior wide receiver/punter Joe Polselli (Evergreen Park, Ill./St. Rita) totaled 155 yards on four punts for an average of 38.8 yards. He landed two punts inside the 20-yard line with a long of 58 yards.
- Freshman defensive back Zach Norred (Manteno, Ill./St. Rita) posted a career-high 12 tackles (six solos) to lead the team.
- Graduate student linebacker Ryan Fitzgerald (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) totaled 11 tackles (nine solos), 3.0 tackles for loss for 15 yards, 2.0 sacks for 13 yards, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery returned 10 yards and a blocked kick.
- Junior linebacker Chris Swayne (LaSalle, Ill./LaSalle-Peru Township) tallied eight stops (four solos).
- Junior linebacker Terry Elias Jr. (Monee, Ill./Crete-Monee) recorded five tackles (two solos), 0.5 sacks for five yards and a pair of quarterback hurries.
- Sophomore defensive back Taj McClellan (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic Academy) snared his first collegiate interception and he made five tackles (four solos).
- The 'Blue Cougars' scored on their opening drive, going 65 yards on six plays, resulting in a 38-yard touchdown passes two minutes into the contest.
- Saint Francis went up 14-0 with 5:25 to go in the first quarter on a 14-yard touchdown pass after a nine-play, 55-yard drive.
- After a scoreless second period, USF pushed its lead to 20-0 midway through the third quarter after they scored on a six-yard touchdown pass. Fitzgerald blocked the extra point.
- 12 seconds into the fourth period, the 'Blue Cougars' recorded their fourth touchdown pass of the afternoon using a 10-play, 72 drive to carry a 27-0 advantage.
- Quinn scored his first rushing touchdown of the season, taking the ball into the endzone from two yards out at the 5:59 mark of the fourth period.
- D'Ambrosio connected with Quinn for a 31-yard touchdown with 28 seconds left after the 'Red Cougars' went 77 yards on just five plays. The ensuing on-side kick was recovered by Saint Francis, allowing them to kneel down for the win.
Saint Xavier (4-6, 0-4 MSFA Midwest) celebrates 'Senior Day' on Saturday, November 16 before they take on MSFA Midwest League foe Judson University (Ill.). It is also 'First Responders Day' with all first responders gaining free admission with I.D. The game is slated for a 12:00 pm start.
