CHICAGO – Sophomore guard Jaidn Green (Evansville, Ind./Evansville North) had the hot hand, shooting at a 69.2 percent clip (9-for-13) from the field and was 3-for-6 from three-point range to finish with a team-high 21 points to help give Saint Xavier University women's basketball (13-9, 11-4 CCAC) a 70-52 road win over Roosevelt University in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) contest Wednesday evening at the Goodman Center in Chicago, Ill. Green added four assists and a pair of steals in 38 minutes of action. It was the third time this season that Green has scored 20 or more points in a game. The victory moves SXU up to the No. 3 spot, tied with Roosevelt, in the CCAC standings.

Saint Xavier started the game on a 10-0 and didn't allow a field goal until the 3:24 mark while holding a 15-3 lead. They ended the opening frame with a 22-8 advantage and shot 50.0 percent (9-for-18) from the field. Senior guard Bethany Baldwin (Watersmeet, Mich./Finlandia/Triton/Watersmeet) paced the Cougar offense with six points, and she grabbed four rebounds in just eight minutes. Green knocked down a jumper to push the lead to 31-8 with 7:11 left in the half, however the Lakers would end the period on a 19-10 run, giving SXU a 41-27 lead at the break. Green poured in 14 of her 21 points in the second quarter and was 6-for-7 from the floor. The Saint Xavier defense was tough, keeping RU to a 25.4 field goal percentage (17-for-67) and just 14.3 percent (4-for-28) from beyond the arc. It was the fifth time this season that the Cougars kept an opponent under 30.0 percent shooting and the fourth time an opponent shot below 20.0 percent from deep.

• Baldwin finished with 16 points on 6-for-10 shooting with eight rebounds and a steal in just 18 minutes.
• Junior forward Alyssa Crenshaw (Algonquin, Ill./Dundee Crown) scored 12 points, along with eight rebounds, two blocks and an assist.
• Junior guard Jenna Hernandez (Homer Glen, Ill./Joliet Catholic Academy) posted nine points, a season-high tying three assists and three rebounds.
• Junior guard Aaliyahna Derrell (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sand Creek) recorded six points, four assists and she grabbed a pair of rebounds.
• Sophomore center Eleanor Harris (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) blocked a career-best six shots, along with four assists, three rebounds and two points.

Saint Xavier (13-9/11-4 CCAC) hosts Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) at the Shannon Center in CCAC competition on Saturday, February 10 in Chicago, Ill. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 pm tipoff on Bob Hallberg Court.
