CHICAGO – Freshman infielder Noah Dreier (Brookfield, Wis./Brookfield Central) totaled nine RBI over four games while going 6-for-13 (.462) with five runs scored, three doubles, two stolen bases, a home run and a walk to help Saint Xavier University baseball (24-19/17-9 CCAC) win three of four games in their Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) series with Judson University (Ill.). The Cougars won a pair of games in Elgin, Ill. on Friday, taking game one by a 10-2 score as junior infielder Mason Johnson (Palmdale, Calif./Antelope Valley/Quartz Hill) doubled twice with two RBI, and winning game two in seven innings, 16-2, with Dreier, junior infielder Konnor Hutchings (O'Fallon, Mo./St. Charles CC/Liberty) and junior outfielder Justin Massingale (Carbondale, Ill./St. Charles CC/Carbondale Community) each driving in three runs apiece.

SXU suffered a 6-5 setback in game one on Saturday at Richard R. Ferrell Memorial Field with Dreier and Massingale both hitting home runs. Saint Xavier concluded the series with an 11-3 triumph as Dreier tallied three RBI and freshman catcher Victor Zaragoza (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) hitting his first collegiate home run.

Game One:

• Johnson finished 3-for-4 with a run and a stolen base.
• Junior outfielder Sean Moore (Chicago, Ill./Calumet St. Joseph/Thornwood) was 2-for-3 with two RBI, a double, a run scored and a walk.
• Fifth-year senior designated hitter Evan Orzech (Shorewood, Ill./Crossroads Christian Academy) went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a double.
• Sophomore pitcher Trent Markezich (Mount Olive, Ill./Mount Olive) earned the win (1-3) after tossing 6.0 innings with just two hits allowed, two runs (one earned), a walk and three strikeouts.
• Freshman pitcher Trevor Syer (Petrolia, Ontario/Lambton Central) made his collegiate debut, working an inning of relief with two walks.
• The Eagles took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1^st on an RBI single.
• Hutchings tied the game with an RBI single in the top of the 2^nd and SXU rallied for four more runs to go up 5-1 as Johnson hit an RBI single, Orzech was hit-by-pitch with the bases loaded, freshman infielder Troy Stukenberg (La Grange, Ill./Lyons Township) drove in a run on a fielder's choice and freshman outfielder Nick Altobelli (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) clubbed an RBI double.
• Moore lined a two-run double and Orzech pulled an RBI single to right to extend the lead to 8-1 in the top of the 3^rd.
• Judson cracked a home run in the bottom half of the inning.
• Johnson sliced an RBI double in the top of the 4^th and Dreier hit an RBI sacrifice fly in the top of the 5^th.

Game Two:

• Massigale was 2-for-4 with a home run.
• Dreier went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored.
• Hutchings had two hits in three at-bats with a double and a run.
• Orzech finished 3-for-5 with two runs scored, an RBI and a steal.
• Junior pitcher Noah Scott (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton) made the start, going 2.0 innings with two hits, two earned runs and two walks.
• Senior pitcher Tzu-Chun Yen (Kaohsiung, Taiwan/Ohlone/Meiho) picked up his first win of the season (1-0) after throwing 2.0 innings out of the bullpen with just one hit surrendered with three strikeouts.
• Sophomore pitcher Heath Mann (Lewis Center, Ohio/Olentangy Orange) worked 2.0 innings and had a strikeout.
• Sophomore Osvaldo Ballesteros Jr. (Berwyn, Ill./St. Laurence) finished the game with an inning and a strikeout.
• A sac fly gave JU a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 1^st.
• Dreier hammered an RBI double and he scored on an RBI double by Hutchings to put SXU up 2-1 in the top of the 2^nd.
• The Eagles tied the game in the bottom half of the frame with a run scoring on a double play.
• Massingale sparked a nine-run rally in the top of the 5^th by hitting a leadoff home run. Stukenberg hit an RBI double, Dreier laced a two-run double, Hutchings hit an RBI single, Moore had an RBI walk, Massingale hit a two-run single and Orzech had an RBI base hit.
• Hutchings hit an RBI sacrifice fly in the top of the 6^th to make it 12-2.
• Junior pinch hitter Max Archbold (Fort Myers, Fla./Olive Harvey/ Fort Myers) drove in a pair of runs on a base hit, graduate student pinch hitter Nick Fies (Munster, Ind./South Suburban/Munster) picked up an RBI on a hit-by-pitch and sophomore pinch hitter Jackson McFarland (Terre Haute, Ind./Terre Haute South Vigo) tallied an RBI after reaching base on an error in the top of the 7^th.

Game Three:

• Massingale was 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double.
• Dreier finished 1-for-3 with two RBI.
• Orzech went 2-for-4 with a double and Johnson was 2-for-3.
• Senior pitcher Julian Vargas (Tinley Park, Ill./Tinley Park) suffered the loss (4-2) after going 4.2 innings with nine hits given up, six runs (four earned), two walks and two strikeouts.
• Senior pitcher Max Smyth (Tinley Park, Ill./Illinois Central/Andrew) worked 2.1 innings of relief with two hits allowed and a strikeout.
• Stukenberg slugged a two-run double and Dreier belted a two-run home run to give Saint Xavier a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the 4^th.
• Judson homered in the top of the 2^nd and added an RBI on a fielder's choice. They tied the game in the top of the 4^th as two runs scored on an error.
• JU went up 6-4 in the top of the 5^th on a home run and an RBI single.
• Massingale bashed his team-leading ninth home run of the year in the bottom of the 5^th.

Game Four:

• Dreier had three hits in four at-bats with a double, a steal and a run scored.
• Orzech went 3-for-4 with two RBI, two doubles, two runs and a triple.
• Massingale was 3-for-4 with two runs scored, a double, a triple, a stolen base and an RBI.
• Moore collected three hits in four trips to the plate with three runs, two steals, a double and a walk.
• Zaragoza was 1-for-3.
• Senior pitcher Jimmy Fairley (Lake in the Hills, Ill./Rock Valley/Huntley) improved to 3-0 after throwing 5.0 innings with just one hit, three walks and a strikeout.
• Freshman pitcher Garrett Benko (Chesterton, Ind./Andrean) pitched 1.1 innings with three hits, two earned runs and a pair of strikeouts.
• Senior pitcher Nicholas Bounardj (Chicago, Ill./Marist) threw 0.2 innings with a hit, a run and a walk.
• Senior pitcher Vince Oldenstedt (Tinley Park, Ill./Moraine Valley/Andrew) worked a clean 8^th inning.
• Junior pitcher Michael Spano (Downers Grove, Ill./Rock Valley/Downers Grove South) also posted a clean sheet in the top of the 9^th.
• Massingale hit an RBI double in the bottom of the 1^st.
• Zaragoza hammered a three-run home run and Orzech lined an RBI double to push the advantage to 5-0 in the bottom of the 2^nd.
• Orzech hit another RBI double and Dreier laced a two-run double to make it 8-0 SXU in the bottom of the 4^th.
• The Eagles got on the board in the top of the 6^th on an RBI single and an RBI double.
• Stukenberg hit an RBI sac fly and Dreier pulled an RBI single to left for a 10-2 lead in the bottom of the 6^th.
• Judson hit an RBI single in the top of the 7^th.
• Sophomore pinch hitter Gannon Burns (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) lifted a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 7^th to cap the scoring.

Saint Xavier (24-19/17-9 CCAC) heads to Charleston, Ill. to play NCAA Division I Eastern Illinois University in a nine-inning game on Wednesday, April 17. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
