Connie LeBel (Crestwood, Ill./DePaul/Ferris State/Mother McAuley) was one of three players from Saint Xavier University women's volleyball (5-5, 2-0 CCAC) to record 10 or more kills, posting a match best 15, along with a match-high and season-high 20 digs for her fifth double-double of the year in a four-set win over Governors State University (Ill.) (25-15, 25-20, 19-25, 25-18) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) action Tuesday evening on Bob Hallberg Court at the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill. Fifth-year senior middle blocker
Courtney Hunter (Bourbonnais, Ill./Bradley-Bourbonnais) had 12 kills, including the winning point and junior outside hitter
Jenny Jensen (Orland Park, Ill./Cardinal Stritch/Sandburg) came away with 10 kills for the Cougars.
- Senior setter Kaleigh Ritter (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) recorded 25 assists, eight digs, three service aces and a kill.
- Redshirt junior setter Samantha Hovey (Mackinaw, Ill./Heartland/Dee-Mack) registered her fourth double-double of the season with 19 assists and 11 digs.
- Senior outside hitter Abby Gentile (Blissfield, Mich./Lourdes/Blissfield) finished with seven kills and a pair of digs.
- Redshirt junior libero Avanna Martinez (Coamo, Puerto Rico/Colegio Ponceno) scooped up 16 digs with four assists, two aces and a kill.
- Senior outside hitter Delaney Davis (Chicago, Ill./South Carolina State/Mother McAuley) chipped in two blocks, two digs and two kills.
- Freshman defensive specialist Taylor Vann (Oklahoma City, Okla./Bishop McGuinness Catholic) tallied six digs and two service aces.
- LeBel also had three aces, a block and an assist, while Hunter added four blocks (two solos) and three digs.
Saint Xavier (5-5/2-0 CCAC) travels to Kokomo, Ind. to take part in the Indiana University Kokomo Invitational that begins on Friday, September 13. SXU will play University of Cumberlands (Ky.) at 3:00 pm central in their first match. They face Campbellsville University (Ky.) at 9:00 am central and the host No. 10 ranked Cougars at 11:30 am central.
