CHICAGO – The Saint Xavier University women's basketball team (10-6, 6-2 CCAC) posted a season-high nine blocked shots and their second-highest point total of the year as they defeated Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play Saturday afternoon on Bob Hallberg Court at the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill. Alyssa Crenshaw (Algonquin, Ill./Dundee-Crown) recorded a season-best 14 points, and she came down with 10 rebounds (five offensive) for her second double-double of the 2024-25 campaign. She went 8-for-11 from the free-throw line, swiped a season-high four steals, with two blocked shots and a pair of assists in a team-leading 21 minutes. The Cougars attempted a season-high 32 foul shots, making 21 (65.6 percent), and the corralled 52 rebounds, the fourth time this year that they have grabbed 50 or more rebounds.
- Sophomore guard Madyson Kibelkis (Peotone, Ill./Peotone) netted 13 points in 13 minutes off the bench with three rebounds and a steal.
- Freshman forward Veronica Bafia (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport Township) tallied 10 points on 5-for-9 shooting, along with five rebounds, an assist, a block and a steal.
- Senior guard Aaliyahna Derrell (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sand Creek) also scored 10 points, making four of her five shot attempts. She also added a team-leading three assists, two rebounds, a blocked shot and a steal.
- Graduate student guard/forward Ryann Ogarek (Joliet, Ill./Benedictine/Lewis/Providence Catholic) hauled in a game-high 13 rebounds while adding eight points, two assists and a pair of steals.
- Junior guard Jaidn Green (Evansville, Ind./Evansville North) collected eight points, two assists, two rebounds and a steal.
- Junior center Eleanor Harris (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) finished with eight points, three blocks, two rebounds and a steal.
- Redshirt junior guard Hayley Macdonald (Canberra, Australia/Williston State/Lake Ginninderra) registered six points, three rebounds, a season-best three steals and an assist.
- Redshirt senior guard Naya Haymon (Homewood, Ill./Kirkwood/Homewood-Floosmoor) scored a season-high six points with an assist and a steal.
- Freshman guard Makayla Kelly (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) chipped in four points and career-bests in blocks (two) and rebounds (three).
Saint Xavier (10-6/6-2 CCAC) makes the trip to Joliet, Ill. to face University of St. Francis (Ill.) on Wednesday, January 15. The game is scheduled for a 5:00 pm tip-off.
