Jordan Jackson (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northwood/Wilmington/East Kentwood) scored 19 of his 26 points in the second half to help the Saint Xavier University men's basketball team (10-4, 5-1 CCAC) overcome a 47-42 halftime deficit to come away with a 93-84 road victory over Viterbo University (Wis.) in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) contest Saturday afternoon in La Crosse, Wis. Jackson shot 50.0 percent (6-for-12) from the field, and he was 13-for-15 from the foul-line, tying for the eighth-most in single-game program history. His 13 makes are the most since former NAIA All-American Joshua Evans (2019-22) made 12 foul shots against Governors State University (Ill.) on February 25, 2021. As a team, the Cougars finished 26-for-35 (74.3 percent) from the charity stripe, their second-highest mark of the season and their most free-throw attempts in 2024-25.
SXU trailed by as many as 13 points, 37-24, with just over six minutes remaining in the first half. They would cut the deficit to just two points, 39-37, using a 13-2 run over the next four minutes when junior guard
Deontrae Warren (Champaign, Ill./Daley/Olive Harvey/Champaign Centennial) took a pass from Jackson and burying a three. Warren was 6-for-6 in the first 20 minutes, including 4-for-4 from three-point range, scoring 16 of his 18 points. VU closed out the half on a 10-5 margin as Jackson made a lay-up at the buzzer.
The V-Hawks maintained their advantage coming out of the locker room, building a 64-57 lead at the 11:11 mark. Saint Xavier rallied and took the lead for good after senior guard
Sando Hill (Vanoss, Okla./Lyon/Seminole State/Vanoss) made a pair of foul shots to put the Cougars up 68-67 with 7:31 left in regulation. SXU was 23-for-28 from the foul line in the second half and they turned up the defense, forcing nine turnovers with six steals, and limiting Viterbo to 38.9 percent shooting (14-for-36) to improve to 5-1 in conference play.

- Warren collected three rebounds and a season-best three steals.
- Senior forward Kevin Bishop (Cleveland, Ohio/Pikeville/Parkland/Cleveland Benedictine) tallied 15 points on 6-for-10 shooting with nine rebounds and a steal.
- Hill finished with 10 points, seven rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals.
- Fifth-year senior guard Julian Barr (Tinley Park, Ill./Lincoln Land/Lincoln-Way East) tallied 12 points, four rebounds (three offensive) and a steal.
- Junior guard Ashton Atwater (Kalamazoo, Mich./Kalamazoo Valley/Ostego) scored eight points with a block and a rebound.
- Junior forward Davion Lawrence (Oak Lawn, Ill./Moraine Valley/Oak Lawn Community) came away with nine rebounds, five points and a steal.
Saint Xavier (10-4, 5-1 CCAC) takes on Indiana University South Bend in CCAC action on Wednesday, January 8. The game is slated for a 7:00 pm start at the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill.
