CHICAGO – Eight student-athletes from the Saint Xavier University football team (5-6, 1-4 MSFA Midwest) were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) All-District Team when the awards were announced Tuesday morning. Graduate student kicker
Peyton Benes (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew), sophomore defensive lineman
Jett Ciucci (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township), graduate student linebacker
Ryan Fitzgerald (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew), junior wide receiver
Cameron Hatcher (Morris, Ill./Morris Community), sophomore defensive back
Taj McClellan (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic Academy), fifth-year senior quarterback
Stuart Ross (Springfield, Ill./Springfield Southeast), junior linebacker
Chris Swayne (LaSalle, Ill./LaSalle-Peru Township) and junior linebacker
Carter Wynn (Greenfield, Wis./Whitnall) To qualify, a student-athlete must have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher, start at least 66 percent of their team's matches and/or appear in 90 percent of matches played.
- Benes and Ross are now three-time honorees, with Ross earning CSC Academic All-American after the 2022 season. Fitzgerald earns the honor for the second consecutive year.
- Benes is earning his MBA and maintains a 3.74 GPA.
- Ciucci holds a 3.64 GPA while majoring in Finance.
- Fitzgerald is a graduate student in the ESL (English as a Second Language) program with a 3.69 GPA.
- Hatcher sports a 3.51 GPA as a Business major.
- McClellan majors in Computer Science and has a 3.58 GPA in the classroom.
- Ross has a 3.77 GPA as a Business Administration major.
- Swayne is majoring in Exercise Science with a GPA of 3.77.
- Wynn also majors in Exercise Science, earning a 3.79 GPA away from the gridiron.
