Manzke Stays Hot; SXU Women’s Soccer Tops Viterbo, 4-2

La Crosse, Wis. – Graduate student forward Maddie Manzke (Orland Park, Ill./Keiser/Webber International/Warner/Sandburg) collected two assists and she scored the game-winning goal, her third consecutive match scoring the winning tally, as the Saint Xavier University women's soccer team (8-4-4, 7-1-3 CCAC) defeated Viterbo University (Wis.) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play Tuesday afternoon in La Crosse, Wis. Manzke, who was named the CCAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week earlier in the day for her efforts last week, posted a match-high six shot attempts along with four shots on goal in 85 minutes on the pitch. Junior goalkeeper Natalie Dybas (La Grange, Ill./Lyons Township), who was named CCAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, totaled five saves to improve her record to 8-4-4 in goal this season.
  • Senior midfielder Veronica Davila (Bourbonnais, Ill./Governors State/Bradley-Bourbonnais) recorded a goal and an assist, adding three shot attempts and two shots on goal, while playing the full time.
  • Junior forward Alex Jonaitis (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) scored her sixth goal of the season on her lone shot attempt in 85 minutes of action.
  • Freshman midfielder Angelica Flores (Chicago, Ill./Hubbard) tallied her second goal of the year in 64 minutes off the bench.
  • Davila opened the scoring after she received a pass from Manzke, hitting the back of the net for her fourth goal in 2025 in the 13th minute.
  • In the 21st minute, Manzke sent in a corner kick and Jonaitis headed in a shot past the goalkeeper to extend the advantage to 2-0.
  • The V-Hawks got on the board in the 44th minute, converting a goal off of a corner kick.
  • Manzke scored her team-leading eighth goal of the season in the 53rd minute on an assist from Davila.
  • Flores netted an unassisted goal in the 62nd minute to push the lead to 4-1.
  • Viterbo cut the deficit in half in the 82nd minute with a goal, however the SXU defense did not allow another shot until the 89th minute to secure the road win.
Saint Xavier (8-4-4/7-1-2 CCAC) concludes play in the regular season when they travel to East Chicago, Ind. to play Calumet College of St. Joseph on Wednesday, October 29. The match is scheduled for a 7:30 pm start.
