Orange City, Iowa – The Saint Xavier University women's volleyball team (18-11, 14-4 CCAC) saw its season come to an end after a 3-0 defeat (13-25, 11-25, 15-25) to No. 2 Northwestern College (Iowa) in the 2025 NAIA Women's Volleyball Championship Opening Round Saturday afternoon at the Bultman Center in Orange City, Iowa. Delaney Panozzo (Grant Park, Ill./Grant Park) led the Cougars with seven kills and a block. SXU concludes their 2025 campaign in the NAIA Opening Round for the second consecutive season, and they have reached the NAIA Opening Round for the fourth time in the last five seasons, including a trip to the NAIA National Championship Tournament in 2022.
- Senior setter Samantha Hovey (Mackinaw, Ill./Heartland/Dee-Mack) posted 10 assists, nine digs and six kills.
- Fifth year senior libero Avanna Martinez (Coamo, Puerto Rico/Colegio Ponceno) collected a team-leading 10 digs while adding five assists.
- Junior setter Abbey Opilka (Dyer, Ind./Hanover Central) tallied seven assists, five digs and a service ace.
- Senior outside hitter Jenny Jensen (Orland Park, Ill./Cardinal Stritch/Sandburg) recorded six kills and four digs.
- Senior middle blocker Nicole Grochola (Burbank, Ill./Reavis) came away with three kills, a block and a dig.
- Graduate student defensive specialist Katie DeHaan (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) had three digs and an assist.
- Sophomore libero/defensive specialist Taylor Vann (Oklahoma City, Okla./Bishop McGuinness Catholic) also registered three digs.
- Senior outside hitter Tara Glynn (Oak Lawn, Ill./Richards) and freshman outsider hitter Danica Bowden (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) each added a kill, respectively.
