Glendale, Ariz. – The Saint Xavier University baseball team (5-4/0-0 CCAC) was limited to just two hits in a 2-0 loss to No. 10 ranked Arizona Christian University in game one of their four-game series Thursday evening at Greenway High School in Glendale, Ariz. Senior outfielder

Michael Flier (Greenup, Ill./Spoon River/Cumberland) each collected a base hit for the Cougars, with Moore adding a stolen base.
- Graduate student pitcher Jimmy Fairley (Lake in the Hills, Ill./Rock Valley/Huntley) made his third start of the season (1-1), lasting 5.0 innings with five hits allowed, two runs (both unearned), a walk and four strikeouts.
- Junior pitcher Trent Markezich (Mount Olive, Ill./Mount Olive) logged 3.0 innings of relief, giving up just one hit, one walk and striking out six batters.
- The only runs of the contest crossed the plate in the bottom of the 2nd when the Firestorm tallied an RBI ground out and an SXU error allowed another run to score, both runs were unearned.
Saint Xavier (5-4/0-0 CCAC) takes on Arizona Christian in game two of their series on Friday, February 14. The nine-inning contest is set for an 8:30 pm central start.
