CHICAGO – Saint Xavier University athletics is happy to announce the newest members of the SXU Athletics Hall of Fame. 10 individuals will be a part of the 20
th class to be enshrined, bringing the total number of Cougar Hall of Famers to 141. The group will be inducted on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the Hilton Chicago Oak Lawn with check-in at 10:00 am and the banquet scheduled for 11:00am to 2:00 pm.
- Hassan Abuhamdeh (1990-93) from men's soccer.
- Brian Corcoran (2010-15) from men's cross country and track & field.
- John Harasen (1998-2015) hitting coach from baseball.
- Greg Hayward (2011-14) from football.
- Tara Hollar (2000-03) from softball.
- Kara Krolicki (2014-18) from women's basketball.
- Kayla Mullaney (2009-12) from women's volleyball.
- Aaron Porter (2010-12) from men's volleyball.
- Matt Renfro (2006-09) from football.
- Ellie Willging (2015-18) from women's cross country and track & field.
Abuhamdeh was the first NAIA All-American for the men's soccer program, earning the distinction in the just the second season of the team, claiming Honorable Mention in 1991. He was also one of two players to be named All-Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) in 1991 for the Cougars, earning the award again in 1992. Abuhamdeh claimed NAIA All-District in 1992 as well. He was the first player in program history to score five goals in one match.
Corcoran was a four-time All-CCAC First Team winner for the cross country team and he competed in the NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championships three times (2010, 2012-13). He was also a four-time CCAC Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week. Corcoran set the program record for fastest time in an 8K race as a sophomore on September 16, 2011 at the Illinois Intercollegiate Championships in Normal, Ill. when he placed 17
th with a time of 25:00. That time currently ranks No. 6 in best times by a Saint Xavier runner, he also has the eighth and ninth-fastest times in school history. He had a Top 10 finish 15 times in his career, including eight Top Five draws, and he won the 6.6K University of Illinois-Chicago Opener on September 1, 2012 in Palos Heights, Ill. with a time of 20:58.8. Corcoran earned NAIA All-American honors in the 3000m with a seventh-place time of 8:37.37 at the NAIA Men's Indoor Track & Field National Championships on March 5, 2015. He set the program record in the prelims of the race at 8:36:04, which is currently the third-best mark in SXU history. Corcoran qualified for indoor nationals three times (2013-15) and outdoor nationals in 2015. In indoor competition, he won the Mile twice (4:22.32 on February 7, 2015 and 4:17.09 on February 13, 2015) and the 1000m (2:33.22 on February 14, 2014). In outdoor meets, Corcoran win the 1500m (3:58.26 on April 18, 2015) and the 5000 (14:35.85 on April 25, 2015). He still holds the school record in the 1500m at 3:56.95 set on April 11, 2015 and the 5000m in outdoor races.
Coach Harasen, also known by his nickname 'Happy', was the hitting coach for 17 seasons for SXU Hall-of-Famer Mike Dooley (Class of 14'), served as hitting coach for Saint Xavier Hall of Fame head coach Mike Dooley (class of 2014) from 1999-04 and 2006-14 and four seasons with head coach
Rocco Mossuto from 2015-18. During that stretch, he helped coach the Cougars to a 629-446-3 for a .585 winning percentage, with seven Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) regular season championships (1999, 2001-02, 2005-07 & 2009), seven NAIA Region VII Tournament appearances (2001-04, 06-08), an two NAIA Opening Round appearance in 2009 & 2016 and the NAIA Baseball World Series in 2006. Harasen coached 25 NAIA All-Americans, along with five multi-time All-Americans, 53 All-CCAC selections, including 25 multi-time selections, five future SXU Hall of Famers and three CCAC Players of the Year. He also played for the Cougars from 1973-75
Hayward earns his second Hall-of-Fame honor, as he was a part of the Class of 23' when the 2011 National Championship football team went in. In his four seasons, Hayward played in 40 games, totaling 209 tackles (92 solos), a team-record 55.5 tackles for loss, a team-record 291 yards from tackles for loss, a team-record 28.5 sacks and a team-record 191 yards from sacks. He also collected 31 quarterback hurries, four pass breakups, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and one blocked kick. During his NAIA All-American First Team senior season in 2014, he tallied a single-season program record 28.0 tackles for loss with a single-season record 167 yards from tackles for loss, the second-most sacks in single-season team history with 15.0 for a single-season record 122 yards from sacks. Away from the gridiron, Hayward was a three-time Capital One Academic All-Americans College Division (First Team in 2013-14 and Second Team in 2012), a two-time Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete, two-time Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) All-Academic and a National Football Foundation (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society member in 2014. Also in 2014, he was a Cliff Harris Award Finalist, the top defensive player representing NCAA Division II, III and NAIA colleges and universities, and was named the MSFA Midwest League Defensive Player of the Year, helping the Cougars reach the NAIA FCS Semifinals. Hayward was an MSFA Mideast League Honorable Mention in 2012 and a two-time MSFA Midwest League First Team pick in 2013 & 2014. Hayward was also a three-time MSFA Midwest League Defensive Player of the Week in 2014.
Hollar was named NAIA All-American Third Team in 2003, her senior season for the softball team. She was named the CCAC Player of the Year in 2002 and was a four-time All-CCAC selection. Hollar played in 229 games for the Cougars, starting 227, hitting .347 (251-for-724) with an on-base percentage of .394 and slugging .483. She graduated as the programs all-time hits leader with 251, and she currently ranks No. 4, and at-bats with 724, still No. 2 all-time. Hollar collected 46 doubles (No. 6 in team history) and she hit 15 home runs (tied for No. 8). Her 132 RBI are No. 7 in school history and her 350 total bases are tied for No. 3. Hollar had a fielding percentage of .994 (297 putouts, 24 assists and just two errors), fourth-best all-time for SXU, and her fielding percentage will be the highest for any Cougar softball player enshrined in the Hall of Fame. She is one of just 14 players to maintain a perfect fielding percentage in a season for Saint Xavier, on a minimum of 75 chances, when she made 92 putouts with 10 assists her junior season, at the time she was just the fourth player to do so for the Cougars. Hollar helped the Cougars with 40 or more games in three of her four seasons, winning three CCAC regular season titles, two CCAC Tournament runner-up finishes, and a CCAC Tournament Championship in 2001. During her sophomore campaign in 2001, she helped SXU advance to the NAIA Softball World Series for just the second time ever, and the first time since 1986. Hollar also was a factor in Saint Xavier returning to the NAIA Softball World Series in 2002.
Krolicki is the women's basketball all-time leading scorer with 2,750 points in 141 games during her four seasons. She was a four-time NAIA All-American, earning Honorable Mention as a freshman in 2014-15 and claiming NAIA First-Team recognition three times (2015-18). Krolicki was named the NAIA Women's Basketball Division II Player of the Year in 2016-17 and 2017-18, helping the Cougars to a runner-up finish in the 2016-17 NAIA Division II national championship, and a third-place draw in the tournament her senior season. She was also a four-time All-CCAC selection, earning Second Team honors and CCAC Freshman of the Year in 2014-15, First Team the next three seasons and CCAC Player of the Year in 2016-17 and 2017-18. Krolicki was named Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) First Team All-American three times (2015-18). In the classroom, Krolicki was a three-time CoSIDA College Division Academic All-America honoree (Second Team in 2015-16 and 2017-18 and First Team in 2016-17), as well as a three-time CoSIDA College Division Academic All-District 2 honoree (2015-18). She was also a three-time CCAC All-Academic selection and a two-time Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete. By helping SXU reach the championship game and semifinals in consecutive seasons, Krolicki earned First Team All-Tournament honors. She claimed CCAC Player of the Week 11 times. Krolicki also holds the program record for points per game at 19.5, field goals made with 1,005, field goals attempted with 2,120 and games started with 139. Her 484 made three-pointers are tied the most in NAIA Division II history, along with her teammate Maddie Welter (2016-20). Krolicki shot 47.4 percent from the field, No. 16 for SXU, and she has the second-best three-point field goal percentage at 44.5 percent (484-1,088). She is No. 4 in free-throw percentage at 80.0 percent (256-for-320) and assists with 488. Krolicki is No. 5 in steals with 282 and she pulled down 499 rebounds, 18
th best for Saint Xavier. She holds the three-best single-season scoring efforts, with a record 796 points her junior year in 2016-17, netting 700 points in 2017-18 and 692 points in 2015-16. Krolicki is the only player for the Cougars to average 20.0 or more points in a season three times, setting the record with 21.5 points per game in 2016-17 (20.4 in 2015-16 and 20.0 in 2017-18). She also holds the single-season SXU record for field goals made with 288 in 2016-17, field goal attempts in 2016-17 with 588, tied for three-pointers made with 140 in 2016-17. Her 174 assists in 2017-18 are No. 2 in a season for Saint Xavier, and she is one of only four players to come away with 100 or more steals in a season with 108 her senior year. Krolicki holds the single-game scoring record for the Cougars when she tallied 42 points in an overtime win at Robert Morris University (Ill.) on February 3, 2016. Her .889 three-point field goal percentage (8-for-9) is the team record, doing so against William Penn University (Iowa) in the 2016-17 season opener. She recorded 10 steals, tied for second-most in single-game history for SXU, at Roosevelt University (Ill.) on February 7, 2018.
Mullaney was named the Co-CCAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Year and an NAIA All-American Honorable Mention after her junior season in 2011. In her four seasons with the Cougars, Mullaney totaled 1,674 kills in 533 sets across 153 matches, the second-most kills in program history. Her 1912.5 points are No. 3 all-time for SXU (1,674 kills, 163 service aces, 101 block assists and 25 solo blocks). She posted an attack percentage of .198 (1,674-687-4,984), 21
st in team history, and her 4,984 attack attempts are No. 2 in school history as well. Mullaney is No. 13 with 163 aces and No. 3 in service attempts with 2,002, along with two other SXU Hall of Famers to surpass 2,000 service attempts. Recording 1,261 digs, 14
th most for Saint Xavier, Mullaney is one of only nine players to collect 1,000 digs and 1,000 kills for the Cougars. Her 459 kills in 2012 are tied for 11
th in single-season history for SXU. She was a four-time All-CCAC selection (First Team in 2011, Second Team in 2010 and 2012, and Honorable Mention in 2009) and a three-time CCAC Player of the week winner. Mullaney was a two-time Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete in 2011 and 2012, along with CCAC Academic honors in 2012. She helped Saint Xavier win the CCAC regular season title in 2011 and 2012, and CCAC Tournament Championship in 2010. Mullaney also guided the Cougars to a pair of NAIA Opening Round appearances in 2010 and 2012.
Porter was a member of the inaugural season for the men's volleyball program in 2010, earning Mid-American Men's Volleyball Intercollegiate Conference (MAMVIC) East Division Freshman of the Year and All-MAMVIC East First Team. Overall, he was a three-time All-MAMVIC East First Team honoree in his three seasons. His 307 kills in 2010 established the program record, and stood until 2015, and is currently the 10
th highest mark for SXU. He posted 815 kills, the team record until 2017, on 2,245 attack attempts (No. 2 all-time) on a .217 attack percentage (815-328-2,245), which is No. 14 for Saint Xavier. Porter is one of only three players for the Cougars to collet 100 or more service aces, ranking No. 2 with 112, and he carries the fourth-best service percentage at .877 percent on 1,011 serves. Porter is No. 5 in career digs with 564 and he is the only player at SXU with 500 digs and 500 kills. He was the first player for Saint Xavier to top 1000.0 career points with 1008.0 (815 kills, 112 aces, 86 block assists and 38 solo blocks), ranking No. 4 all-time. Porter held the single-season service ace record with 47 in 2012, and the total sits No. 5 currently. He also established the single-season solo blocks record with 18 in 2010 and that total is tied for No. 4 currently. Porter was the first player in team history to record 20 or more kills in a match when he had a career-best 21 kills at Hannibal-LaGrange University (Mo.) on February 5, 2010. He also had 20 kills against Siena Heights University (Mich.) on March 20, 2010 and 20 vs. Grand View University (Iowa) on January 28, 2012.
Renfro was an anchor on the offensive line for the football team, helping the Cougars reach the NAIA FCS Quarterfinals in 2007 and the NAIA FCS Semifinals twice in 2006 and 2009. He was a part of the first SXU squad to go undefeated in a season when they went 11-0 his senior season to win the MSFA Mideast League title in 2009 enroute to a 13-1 overall record. Renfro earned College Fanz NAIA Football Coaches All-American First Team honors in 2009 and Honorable Mention in 2008. He collected three All-MSFA Mideast First Team awards from 2007 to 2009. During his senior campaign in 2009, Saint Xavier began a string of three consecutive seasons of scoring 600 or more points, when they registered 643 points on 87 touchdowns, 80 extra points and 13 field goals. Renfro was a major contributor in the team generating 7,224 yards of total offense in 2009, still the single-season program record. Renfro and the four other members of the O-Line helped set the single-season Saint Xavier record with 2,390 rushing yards and a single-season team record for rushing touchdowns with 34.
Willging is the only athlete for the Cougars to win two individual national championships. She won the 5000m race at the 2016-17 NAIA Indoor Women's Track and Field National Championships on March 2, 2017, and just over two months later she won the 10,000m race at the 2017 NAIA Outdoor Women's Track and Field National Championships on May 25, 2017. While competing for the cross country team, Willging set the school record in the 5K with her time of 17:32.32 at the NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championships, placing 10
th, on November 19, 2016. She owns the four fastest times in program history and 14 of the top 20 best marks for SXU. Willging was a three-time NAIA All-American in cross country, taking 23
rd overall in 2015, 10
th in 2016 and the highest finish in program history when she crossed ninth in 2017. She won the CCAC Championship three times, earning All-CCAC three times as well. In her three cross country seasons, Willging was named the CCAC Runner of the Year three times. She won CCAC Runner of the Week eight times and became the first, and currently only, runner for Saint Xavier to claim NAIA Runner of the Week, doing so twice on September 18, 2017 and October 9, 2017. Willging was a two-time Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete in both cross country and track, two-time CCAC All-Academic selection and was Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic First Team All-American in 2017. She won nine races during her three seasons, including five of the six races she competed in during her senior season. Willging was a three-time All-CCAC winner in track and field, and three-time NAIA All-American, as well as a two-time Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic First Team All-American in 2016-17 and 2017-18 as a member of the track team. She holds the program record in the Indoor 3000m at 9:54.53, the only runner for SXU win a sub-10-minute time, as well as the top three times in Indoor races in the 5000m, with the best time set when she won the national championship. Willging holds the Outdoor 3000m record at 10:04.18, the four-best time in the Outdoor 5000m, including the record time of 16:47.98, and the two-fastest times in the 10,000m with the record of 36:16.98 set at the CCAC Championships on May 5, 2017. She won the Indoor 3000m, 5000m and was member of to Distance Medley Relay winning squads, and she also won the Mile. In Outdoor competition, Willging won the 10,000m twice and the 3000m once.
