Bourbonnais, Ill. – Junior outfielder Fiona Crane (Evergreen Park, Ill./Northern Illinois/Mother McAuley) scored five runs on four hits with three stolen bases and her first career collegiate home run to help lead No. 17 Saint Xavier University softball (33-6/16-0 CCAC) to a pair of wins over Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) regular season finale for both programs Saturday afternoon at Tiger Field in Bourbonnais, Ill. Junior infielder Mallory O'Connor (Bourbonnais, Ill./Olivet Nazarene/Bishop McNamara) tallied three RBI, Crane scored twice, and sophomore pitcher Lily Strand (Evergreen Park, Ill./Saint Louis/Evergreen Park) struck out nine batters in an 8-4 victory in game one. Crane plated three runs on three hits and freshman pitcher Payton Antkiewicz (Dyer, Ind./Hanover Central) went the distance with four strikeouts in a 9-2 triumph in game two. SXU went undefeated in conference play for the first time since 2015 when they finished 20-0 in the CCAC.

Game One:

• O'Connor was 2-for-3 with a walk
• Crane went 1-for-2 with a stolen base.
• Sophomore outfielder Aubrey Wroble (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) collected two hits in three at-bats with two runs and a steal.
• Strand (14-4) allowed six hits with four earned runs and three walks in the complete game effort.
• Junior outfielder Haley Matlock (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport) drove in Crane with an RBI groundout and junior infielder Kaitlyn Wright (Chicago, Ill./Marist) picked up an RBI on a fielder's choice to put Saint Xavier up 2-0 in the top of the 1^st.
• The Cougars added five runs in the top of the 2^nd. Freshman infielder Danielle Goodman (Poplar Grove, Ill./North Boone) lined a sacrifice fly, two runs scored on an error and O'Connor sliced a two-run double to left field for a 7-0 advantage.
• The Tiges responded with two runs in the bottom half of the inning on a fielder's choice RBI and an RBI base hit.
• ONU tacked on a run with an RBI single in the bottom of the 6^th to make it 7-3.
• In the top of the 7^th, O'Connor smacked an RBI base hit to right field.
• A wild pitch scored a run for Olivet Nazarene in the bottom of the 7^th before Strand recorded a lineout and a groundout to seal the win.

Game Two:

• Crane finished 3-for-5 with an RBI.
• Matlock went 3-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base.
• Junior designated player Taylor Becker (Alsip, Ill./Shepard) was 2-for-2 with an RBI double.
• Wright had a hit in three trips to the plate with three runs, three steals and a walk.
• Senior infielder Abbie Carr (Indianapolis, Ind./Roncalli) collected two RBI while going 0-for-3.
• Antkiewicz (14-1) scattered five hits with two earned runs.
• SXU took a 3-0 lead in the top of the 1^st on an RBI single by O'Connor, a sacrifice fly off the bat of Carr and an RBI single from sophomore designated player Yalayzah Lovan (Pleasant Hill, Iowa/Dowling Catholic).
• Wroble pushed the lead to 4-0 in the top of the 2^nd on an RBI groundout.
• The Tigers cut the deficit in half, 4-2, in the bottom of the 3^rd on a pair of RBI base hits.
• Carr drove in her second run of the game on a groundout and Becker hammered an RBI double to right field to give Saint Xavier a 6-2 lead in the top of the 6^th.
• Crane crushed her first collegiate home run over the wall in right field, an error brought in a run and Wright stole home to cap the scoring in the top of the 6^th.
• Antkiewicz worked a 1-2-3 bottom of the 7^th to earn the victory.

No. 17 Saint Xavier (33-6/16-0 CCAC) earns the top seed in the upcoming CCAC Tournament that begins on Thursday, May 1 at the Crown Point Sportsplex in Crown Point, Ind. The league office will announce the pairings early next week.
