He also joins Saint Xavier Hall of Famers (class of 2023) Brad Karp (2010-14) who won the award in consecutive seasons in 2012-13 and 2013-14 from men's basketball, and Megan Nonnemacher (class of 2021) (2011-14), who won her senior year while pitching for the Cougar softball team in 2014.

Pennala was also named an AVCA-NAIA First Team All-American, as well the CCAC Player of the Year for the Cougars and is a two-time All-CCAC First Team honoree. He was named CCAC Attacker of the Week four times this season and NAIA Attacker of the Week twice on February 18 and March 25.
