SXU Football Adds Eight Transfers; Announces 2026 Schedule

CHICAGO – In advance of the 2026 season, the Saint Xavier University football team (8-3, 4-1 MSFA Midwest) added eight new student-athletes to the roster via transfer for the Spring semester, all with ties to the Chicagoland area, and announces its 11-game 2026 schedule with five home games at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field, including Homecoming on October 10 vs. Lawrence Tech University (Mich.) in a Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) crossover contest at Noon.

Head coach Mike Feminis' thoughts on the transfers coming to SXU: "Santa was good to us over the Christmas break! These are all great kids from local programs who wanted to come 'home' and we're excited to welcome them to the family!"
  • Joey Bodell, a defensive lineman coming over from College of DuPage (Ill.) and a product of Bolingbrook High School.
  • Jeremiah Boyd, a running back from NCAA Division III Concordia University-Chicago (Ill.) and ITW Speer Academy.
  • Thomas Grady, a defensive lineman who comes from NCAA Division III Lakeland University (Wis.) and a Shepard High School graduate.
  • HJ Grigsby, a running back from NCAA Division I (FCS) The Citadel (S.C.) and an alum of Joliet Catholic Academy.
  • Brady McKeon, an offensive lineman, transfers in from NCAA Division II Roosevelt University (Ill.), and he also graduated from Joliet Catholic Academy.
  • Ethan Sam, an offensive lineman returns to the area after playing for NCAA Division II University of Minnesota Duluth. He is an alumnus of Plainfield North High School.
  • Justin Stawczyk, a linebacker, returns to the Southside from playing for NCAA Division II Saint Anselm College (N.H.) and he is a graduate of St. Rita High School.
  • Jack Tremblay, a wide receiver transferring from NCAA Division I (FCS) Eastern Illinois University and a product of Lincoln-Way East High School.
Saint Xavier starts the 2026 season with an MSFA crossover game at Taylor University (Ind.) on September 5 at 5:00 pm central in Upland, Ind. The Cougars welcome Indiana Wesleyan University to Deaton Field for their home opener with a 6:00 pm kickoff on September 19. SXU begins MSFA Midwest League competition when they travel to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, Ind. to play the newest member of the conference, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (Ind.) on October 17.

Saint Xavier (8-3/4-1 MSFA Midwest) finished the 2025 season with a share of the MSFA Midwest League Championship after a forfeit victory over Marian University (Ind.) in the season finale.
