South Bend, Ind. – Senior guard
Jaidn Green (Evansville, Ind./Evansville North) scored a team-high 13 points for Saint Xavier University women's basketball (13-7, 9-3 CCAC), however the Cougars lost to Indiana University South Bend 75-56 in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) contest Wednesday evening at the Student Activities Center in South Bend, Ind. Green added five rebounds, four assists, two steals and a blocked shot in 36 minutes on the court. SXU couldn't overcome a slow start in the first quarter, shooting only 14.3 percent (2-for-14) from the field and falling behind 21-5. Saint Xavier kept pace the remainder of the contest, only being outscored 54-51.
- Sophomore forward Veronica Bafia (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport Township) recorded eight points, four rebounds and a steal in 29 minutes of play.
- Freshman guard Brooklynn Johnson (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora) tallied seven points and four rebounds in 22 minutes of action.
- Freshman guard Julia Benjamin (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West) went 3-for-3 from the field, collecting seven points and a rebound in 12 minutes off the bench.
- Junior guard Madyson Kibelkis (Peotone, Ill./Peotone) was 2-for-4 from beyond the arc, finishing with six points. She added two rebounds and an assist.
- Freshman forward Alaina Peetz (Lockport, Ill./Lockport Township) pulled down six rebounds, along with four points, two assists and a block.
Saint Xavier (13-7/9-3 CCAC) hosts Governors State University (Ill.) at the Shannon Center in CCAC play on Saturday, January 24. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 pm start.
