CHICAGO – Senior forward Davion Lawrence (Oak Lawn, Ill./Moraine Valley/Oak Lawn Community) scored a game-high 20 points, one of five players to finish in double-figures as the Saint Xavier University men's basketball team (5-7, 3-2 CCAC) defeated Viterbo University (Wis.), 95-73, in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) contest Saturday afternoon on Bob Hallberg Court at the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill. It was the fifth time that Lawrence has scored 20 or more points in a game this season, the fourth time with exactly 20 points. He was 6-for-10 from the field, 3-for-5 from three-point range, with a pair of rebounds and a steal in just 17 minutes of action. The Cougars scored a season-best 95 points on a season-high 60.3 percent (35-for-58) shooting with the bench contributing 53 points in the conference win. SXU trailed 13-6 in the first four minutes of play until Lawrence tallied a bucket for a 17-16 lead at the 13:20 mark. He split a pair of foul shots the next time down the court that Saint Xavier would hold on to for the remainder of the contest.

• Senior Ike Nwaobi (York/Kilgore/Costal Bend/Westbrook) provided a lift off the bench, netting 15 points on 7-for-11 shooting in 19 minutes. He added four rebounds and two assists.
• Senior forward Grant Martin (Ridgecrest, Calif./Cal State-Long Beach/Citrus/Burroughs) made his debut for the Cougars, scoring 12 points on a 5-for-6 effort while making the start. He also had three rebounds and an assist in 18 minutes of play.
• Junior guard James Morgan (Chicago, Ill./South Suburban/Lincoln Land/East Chicago Central) went 4-for-6 from the floor, and 3-for-4 from beyond the arc, totaling 11 points, three steals, two assists and two rebounds in only 13 minutes.
• Redshirt junior guard MJ Galimah (Coon Rapids, Mich./St. Cloud Tech/Riverland/Coon Rapids) registered 10 points, making all four of his shots from the field, with three assists, three steals, two rebounds and a blocked shot.
• Senior guard Mekhi Wilson (Covington, Ky./Iowa Central/Covington Catholic) tallied eight points, two assists, two steals and a block.
• Senior guard DJ Shelton (Chicago, Ill./Calumet St. Joseph/United Tribes Technical College/Thornridge) collected six points and a steal
• Junior forward Marko Tojagic (Belgrade, Serbia/Saint Andrews) chipped in four points, four rebounds and a blocked shot.

Saint Xavier (5-7, 3-2 CCAC) has a quick turnaround as they host St. Ambrose University (Iowa) in CCAC play at the Shannon Center on Monday, January 5. The game is a re-scheduled game from December 13, and will start at 5:00 pm.
