CHICAGO – Six student-athletes from the Saint Xavier University football team (8-3, 4-1 MSFA Midwest) earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team when the awards were announced Tuesday morning. Claiming the distinction were redshirt junior defensive back

Taj McClellan (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic Academy), senior offensive lineman
Nicholas Niecikowski (Elmwood Park, Ill./Trinity International/IC Catholic Prep), senior linebacker
Chris Swayne (LaSalle, Ill./LaSalle-Peru Township), senior linebacker
Carter Wynn (Greenfield, Wis./Whitnall) and senior defensive lineman
Justin Yeazell (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North). To qualify, a student-athlete must have a grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher, start at least 66 percent of their team's games and/or appear in 90 percent of games played.
- McClellan, Swayne and Wynn are repeat winners from 2024.
- Art carries a 4.00 GPA while majoring in Secondary Education/Social Sciences.
- McClellan holds a GPA of 3.69 as a Computer Science major.
- Niecikowski majors in Computer Science as well, maintaining a GPA of 3.61.
- Swayne has a GPA of 3.81 away from the gridiron, majoring in Exercise Science.
- Wynn also majors in Exercise Science, sporting a 3.67 GPA.
- Yeazell has a GPA of 3.57 in the classroom, while also majoring in Exercise Science.
