Palos Heights Ind. – Junior guard James Morgan (Chicago, Ill./South Suburban/Lincoln Land/East Chicago Central) finished with a team-leading 15 points, going 4-for-7 from three-point range, but Saint Xavier University men's basketball (11-16, 9-11 CCAC) lost its regular season finale to Trinity Christian College (Ill.), 91-68, in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play Saturday afternoon at the DeVos Gymnasium in Palos Heights, Ill. Morgan went 5-for-11 overall from the floor, adding three assists, two blocked shots and two rebounds. Despite the loss, SXU claimed one of the eight spots for the CCAC Men's Basketball Tournament that begins next week.

Saint Xavier trailed 15-4 early in the contest, using a timeout at the 16:08 mark. They used an 8-0 run to cut the deficit over the next two minutes. The Trolls pushed their advantage back to eight, 20-12, before Morgan knocked down a three with 12:01 to go in the half. TCC maintained its lead over the next seven minutes. Senior forward Davion Lawrence (Oak Lawn, Ill./Moraine Valley/Oak Lawn Community) would get the Cougars within three points, 33-30, when he split a pair of foul shots with 5:51 remaining. Trinity Christian closed out the half on a 17-6 run, holding a 50-36 lead at halftime. The Trolls kept their double-digit lead the remainder of the contest, even with SXU shooting at a 50.0 percent clip (13-for-26) in the second frame.

• Lawrence made five of his 10 shot attempts, collecting 13 points. He also had three rebounds, two assists and a block.
• Senior guard Jerry Abushanab (Glendale Heights, Ill./Oklahoma Panhandle State/Southwest Baptist/Link Prep) recorded 10 points with a team-best seven rebounds, an assist and a steal.
• Junior guard Marko Tojagic (Belgrade, Serbia/Saint Andrews) tallied 10 points, five rebounds and three assists.
• Senior guard Ike Nwaobi (York/Kilgore/Costal Bend/Westbrook) finished in double figures as well, coming away with 10 points and a rebound.
• Senior guard Ashton Atwater (Kalamazoo, Mich./Kalamazoo Valley/Ostego) posted eight points, a team-high five assists and a blocked shot.
• Redshirt sophomore guard Jordan Streeter (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young) added two assists, two points, a block and a rebound in 16 minutes off the bench.

Saint Xavier (11-16, 9-11 CCAC) awaits its seeding and opponent for the upcoming CCAC Tournament that beings on Wednesday, February 25.
