Cameron Daniels (Omaha, Neb./Millard West) established a career high with 61 assists, the second-most in a match in team history, however the No. 2 ranked Saint Xavier University men's volleyball team (15-3/6-0 CCAC) saw its 14-match winning streak come to an end after a five-set loss (23-25, 25-22, 25-17, 27-29, 13-15) to No. 7 Mount Mercy University (Iowa) Friday evening in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Daniels also had 10 digs for his first double-double of the season, along with a block. He joins Jason Klein (2021-23) as the only players for the Cougars to collect 60 or more assists in a match as Klein set the record with 63 vs. University of Jamestown (N.D.) on March 4, 2023. SXU broke the team's single-match record for kills, posting 72, topping the previous mark of 69 set last season in pool play at the NAIA Men's Volleyball National Championship Tournament vs. Benedictine University Mesa (Ariz.) on April, 29, 2025. They also tied the team record for assists with 67, the same match that Klein set his record.
- Graduate student opposite hitter Matt Pennala (Long Beach, Calif./Long Beach City/St. John Bosco) totaled 26 kills, tied for the third-most in a five-set match for Saint Xavier, and the fourth-most in a match overall for the Cougars. He did so on a .391 attack percentage (26-8-46). He added eight digs, two blocks and a service ace.
- Junior outside hitter Caydann Cox (Helena, Mont./Jamestown/Jamestown) came away with 16 kills, four blocks (one solo), three digs, an ace and an assist.
- Freshman middle blocker Hayden Grange (Mission Viejo, Calif./Trabuco Hills) registered a career-high 12 kills on a stellar .500 attack percentage (12-2-20). He also tied his career-high with six service aces, while adding two blocks and two digs.
- Senior middle blocker Tysen Myers (Apple Valley, Minn./Jamestown/Eastview) finished with a season-best 12 kills on a phenomenal .647 attack percentage (12-1-17) and four blocks.
- Senior libero Andres Velez (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico/St. Francis) scooped up a match-high tying 15 digs with five assists and an ace.
- Freshman outsider hitter Owen Krause (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) had six kills, three digs and a solo block, while freshman outside hitter Henry Truitt (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West) chipped in a dig and a service ace.
No. 2 Saint Xavier (15-3/6-0 CCAC) has a quick turnaround, playing in the Viterbo University (Wis.) Tri-Match on Saturday, March 14. They play the V-Hawks at 12:30 pm in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) contest and Clarke University (Iowa) at 2:30 pm in La Crosse, Wis.
