CHICAGO – Senior middle blocker
Tysen Myers (Apple Valley, Minn./Jamestown/Eastview) came away with a match-best 10 kills on an efficient .563 attack percentage (10-1-16) with two blocks (one solo) to help guide the No. 3 ranked Saint Xavier University men's volleyball team (23-3/12-0 CCAC) to a three-set victory (25-21, 25-15, 25-20) over Judson University (Ill.) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) action Tuesday evening on Bob Hallberg Court at the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill. With the win, the Cougars need one more victory in conference play to secure the CCAC regular season championship.
- Junior setter Cameron Daniels (Omaha, Neb./Millard West) collected a match-leading 31 assists, along with four digs, two kills and a block.
- Freshman middle blocker Hayden Grange (Mission Viejo, Calif./Trabuco Hills) did a little bit of everything, coming away with six kills, four blocks (one solo), four service aces and three digs.
- Freshman outside hitter Bernardo Kumm (Santa Cruz do Sul, Brazil/Colegio Maua) posted seven kills, two digs and a solo block.
- Senior libero Andres Velez (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico/St. Francis) scooped up a match-high 10 digs with three assists, an ace and just his second kill of the season.
- Junior opposite hitter/outside hitter Donte Jennings (Spokane Valley, Wash./Morningside/Jamestown/Central Valley) logged five kills, an assist and a dig.
- Junior outside hitter Caydann Cox (Helena, Mont./Jamestown/Jamestown) finished with four kills, a block, a dig and a service ace.
- Graduate student opposite hitter Matt Pennala (Long Beach, Calif./Long Beach City/St. John Bosco) recorded five digs, three kills and a block.
- Freshman outsider hitter Owen Krause (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) registered three digs, a block and a kill, while freshman outside hitter Henry Truitt (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West) chipped in an ace.
No. 3 Saint Xavier (23-3/12-0 CCAC) hosts a Tri-Match at the Shannon Center on Saturday, April 4. The Cougars play Viterbo University (Wis.) in CCAC play at 11:00 am and they cap the day vs. Indiana Tech University at 4:00 pm.
