Irving, Texas – The Saint Xavier University football team had eight student-athletes earn a spot on the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society when the list was announced by the NFF Wednesday morning. To be eligible, a student- athlete must be either a senior or graduate student competing in their final season of eligibility, maintain a grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher and started or have been a main contributor throughout the 2024 season.
The NFF is celebrating its 20
th anniversary with over 23,000 student-athletes from 691 schools being represented since 2007. This season, 2,596 players from 365 institutions across NCAA Division I (FBS & FCS), Division II, Division III, NAIA & Sprint were honored.
With the addition of the eight players this season, Saint Xavier has had 60 student-athletes named to the Hampshire Honor Society.
- Senior defensive back Alex Art (Round Lake Beach, Ill./Grant Community) carries a 4.00 GPA while majoring in Secondary Education and Social Sciences.
- Senior quarterback Dominic D'Ambrosio (Oak Forest, Ill./Andrew) majors in Business Management and Finance with a GPA of 3.63.
- Senior wide receiver Ronnie Foster (Peoria Heights, Ill./Peoria Heights) is an Exercise Science major, maintaining a 3.37 GPA in the classroom.
- Senior wide receiver Cameron Hatcher (Morris, Ill./Morris Community) holds a 3.39 GPA as a Business Management major.
- Senior offensive lineman Nicholas Niecikowski (Elmwood Park, Ill./Trinity International/IC Catholic Prep) sports a GPA of 3.56 as a Computer Science major.
- Graduate student kick Adrian Sojka (Justice, Ill./Moraine Valley/Argo Community) is earning his Masters in Bilingual Education with a 3.90 GPA away from the gridiron.
- Senior linebacker Chris Swayne (LaSalle, Ill./LaSalle-Peru Township) majors in Exercise Science with a GPA of 3.82.
- Senior defensive lineman Justin Yeazell (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) also in an Exercise Science major, sporting a GPA of 3.65.
