Joliet, Ill. – The Saint Xavier University women's track & field team had a small group of competitors in action at the University of St. Francis (Ill.) Fighting Chance Invite this weekend at Joliet Memorial Stadium in Joliet, Ill. Senior
Emerson Colins (New Lenox, Ill./St. Francis/Lincoln-Way West) and junior
Amaya Rique (St. Louis, Mo./Mineral Area/Seckman) each had Top 10 finishes in separate events, with Colins placing fourth in the 100m Dash at 12.19 seconds, while Rique was seventh in the 200m at 25.51 seconds and 10
th overall in the 400m at 59.65 seconds.
Sophomore
Mariah James (Alsip, Ill./Shepard) logged a personal record (PR) throw in the Hammer, placing sixth with a distance of 44.01m. Sophomore
Sophia Thomas (Highland, Ill./Highland) also came away with a new PR in the Long Jump in Outdoor competition, finishing ninth at 4.83m. Senior
Jamie Sierocki (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) and junior
Isabel Calderon (Orland Park, Ill./Olivet Nazarene/Sandburg) each placed in the Top 10 in the Javelin, respectively, with Sierocki taking fourth with a throw of 34.85m and Calderon logging her second-best career distance at 30.39m to finish sixth. No team scores were recorded.
- Colins qualified for the 100m Dash finals with a time of 12.22 seconds in the preliminaries. She also ran in the 200m, clocking in at 25.84 seconds.
- Rique set a new PR in the 400m, running the seventh-fastest time in team history. Calderon also established a new PR with her time of 1:01.43. Freshman Nyaa Williams (Romeoville, Ill./Romeoville) crossed the finish line at 1:05.58, while freshman Alesi Rodriguez (St. John, Ind./Andrean) was a step behind her teammate, recording her second-best time of the season at 1:05.69.
- Rodriguez also competed in the 400m Hurdles, checking in with her fourth-quickest time of the year at 1:16.76.

th annual NAIA Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships that take place from May 20-22 at the Karl Straus Track in Asheville, North Carolina.
