Lexi Clarke (Plainfield, Ill./Joliet JC/Plainfield South) and fifth-year senior
Olivia Mathis (Akron, Ohio/Lourdes/St. Vincent-St. Mary) from the Saint Xavier University women's track & field team were named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-Americans when the awards were announced Wednesday morning. Clarke claimed First Team recognition, while Mathis was a Second Team honoree. To qualify, a student-athlete must hold a grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher and be enrolled at their current institution for at least one calendar year.
Clarke had a 4.00 GPA in Sociology and Psychology, and Mathis sported a GPA of 3.55 in Accounting, Finance, and Business Management. Clarke won the NAIA Indoor National Championship in the 600m in March and was an All-American as a member of the 4x800 Relay Team that placed second. She added two more All-American laurels at the NAIA Outdoor National Championships, placing second in the 4x00 Relay and sixth in the 800m. Mathis was also a member of the Indoor 4x800 Relay, as well as earning All-American in the 800m with a third-place finish. She claimed two more All-American awards at the Outdoor event, again in the 4x800 Relay and a fourth-place draw in the 800m.
Clarke is now a three-time CSC Academic All-District winner (2023-26), and Mathis is a two-time honoree (2024-26). The duo was also named to the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) All-Academic Team, as well as NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
