Three Earn NAIA All-American Honors from SXU Softball

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For just the second time in program history, three members from the Saint Xavier University softball team (43-14/26-1 CCAC) were named NAIA All-Americans when the awards were announced by the national office Tuesday morning after the conclusion of the NAIA Softball World Series that saw No. 1 Madonna University (Mich.) win its first national championship. Senior outfielder Fiona Crane (Evergreen Park, Ill./Northern Illinois/Mother McAuley) earned NAIA All-American First Team recognition after an NAIA All-American Second Team nod in 2025. Also claiming NAIA All-American First Team honors was redshirt sophomore infielder Jazmyn Casas (Berwyn, Ill./Illinois-Chicago/Taft). Junior infielder Aubrey Wroble (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point) was named an NAIA All-American Second Team member, her second consecutive NAIA All-American win after an NAIA All-American Third Team selection a season ago.

The trio joins three SXU Hall of Famers; Sue Daeschler (1989-92), Rochelle Maly (1987-88, 90-91) and Kathy Principato (1988-90), who were all NAIA All-American Honorable Mentions in 1990. Casas and Crane are the seventh and eighth players, respectively, for the Cougars to be named NAIA First Team All-Americans, joining Saint Xavier Hall of Famers Colleen Kilduff (2003-06), who was the NAIA Player of the Year in 2006, and Nicole Nonnemacher (2013-16), the only player in team history to be a four-time First Team All-American, and a three-time NAIA Pitcher of the Year (2014-16). Former standout Allison Golic (2018-21) claimed First Team honors in 2021.
  • Casas played in and started all 57 games this season for the Cougars and was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Player of the Year, and was a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) NAIA First Team All-Region V pick. She set the single-season team record for RBIs with 87 and she had the fifth-best single season slugging percentage at .719. Casas batted .404 (69-for-171) and had a .488 on-base percentage. She had the second-best OPS (on-base plus slugging) on the team at 1.207. Casas had 47 runs, 17 doubles, a team-leading 11 home runs and two triples, and collected 123 total bases. Casas drew 23 walks and was hit-by-pitch seven times, and finished 10-for-11 in stolen base attempts. Defensively, she had a .922 fielding percentage of 154 chances with 82 putouts, 60 assists and 12 errors. Casas has helped to turn six double-plays. She was named CCAC Player of the Week three times this season and earned a CCAC Gold Glove at shortstop.
  • Crane has also played in and started all 57 games this season. She broke the NAIA single-season record for stolen bases, going 95-for-101. Crane also topped her own school record for runs scored finishing with 79. She is hit .440 (88-for-200) with 29 RBI, 22 walks, a team-high four triples and a pair of doubles. Her 88 hits are second-most in single season team history. Crane tallied 98 total bases and carried an on-base percentage of .502. She had a perfect fielding percentage on 112 chances, making 107 putouts with five assists, as well as being a part of one double-play. Crane won CCAC Player of the Week on February 17, and is also a two-time All-CCAC First Team selection. She also won her second straight CCAC Gold Glove award for her play in center field, and was an NFCA-NAIA All-Region V First Team selection.
  • Wroble played in and started all 57 games this season. She had 85 hits, becoming just the second Cougar to record 80 or more hits in back-to-back campaigns along with Kilduff who was the first to do so in 2003-04. Wroble was second on the team with a .486 batting average (85-for-175) with 67 runs scored and 90 total bases. She drew 32 walks, second-most in single-season team history, for an on-base percentage of .562, and slugged .514 for an OPS of 1.076. Wroble had 27 RBI, two triples and a double. She is just the second SXU player, along with Crane (2025-26), to steal 50 or more bases in a season (54-for-59). Moving from the outfield last year to the infield, Wroble had a fielding percentage of .946 on 149 chances. She had 96 putouts, 45 assists and eight errors, while turning four double-plays. Wroble claimed her third straight All-CCAC First Team award and was an NFCA-NAIA All-Region V First Team honoree.
