Daniel Martinez (Cicero, Ill./Morton East) made three saves for the visiting Cougars.
- Fifth-year senior forward Dorian Mahone (Carol Stream, Ill./Willowbrook) led Saint Xavier with two shots on goal in 48 minutes as a reserve.
- Senior midfielder/forward Yael Diaz (Chicago, Ill./Moraine Valley/Hubbard), junior forward Diego Garcia (Chicago, Ill./Hope Academy) and freshman forward Jesus Pantoja (Burbank, Ill./Reavsi) each finished with one shot on goal, respectively. For Pantoja, it was his first collegiate shot attempt.
- Freshman midfielder Juan Garcia (Chicago, Ill./Cristo Ray Jesuit) made his first collegiate start, along with his first collegiate shot attempt, in 53 minutes on the pitch.
- The host Cougars tallied the first goal of the match in the 23rd minute. SAU scored again just over two minutes later in the 25th minute, and they would carry a 2-0 lead into halftime.
- Spring Arbor netted a goal in the 53rd minute, and added another in the 78th minute of play.
Saint Xavier (3-4/0-0 CCAC) continues non-conference competition when they host Maharishi International University (Iowa) at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field on Tuesday, September 15. The match is set for a 7:00 pm start.
