Bourbonnais, Ill. – The Saint Xavier University women's volleyball team (3-12, 3-3 CCAC) saw its three-match winning streak come to an end Saturday afternoon after a 3-0 defeat (18-25, 16-25, 18-25) to Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) contest at McHie Arena in Bourbonnais, Ill. Ella O'Neill (Orland Park, Ill./Edgewood/Andrew) led the Cougars with five kills, adding a season-high three blocks (one solo), her first two service aces of the year, and a dig. SXU finished with seven total blocks (three solos), second-most in conference play, and third highest in a match in 2026.
- Senior setter Abbey Opilka (Dyer, Ind./Hanover Central) handed out 11 assists with a dig and a kill.
- Senior outside hitter Aalyssa Gunn (Orlando, Fla./Trinity Christian/Orlando Christian Prep) collected three blocks (one solo), three kills and a dig.
- Junior libero Taylor Vann (Oklahoma City, Okla./Bishop McGuinness Catholic) came away with a team-best eight digs, adding an ace and an assist.
- Freshman middle blocker Addison Hoeniges (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington Central Catholic) posted three kills and a solo block.
- Junior outside hitter Lauren Ahlstedt (Roselle, Ill./Harper/Lake Park) had three kills as well, along with three digs and a service ace.
- Senior middle blocker Delaney Panozzo (Grant Park, Ill./Grant Park) was one dig off her season-high, finishing with three. She also had a pair of kills.
- Junior middle blocker Ellie Graf (Loves Park, Ill./Rockford Christian) tied her season-best with three blocks, adding two kills on three attack attempts.
- Junior defensive specialist Yuvia Velasquez (Burbank, Ill./Reavis) scooped up four digs, sophomore setter Vianne Villa (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) had a pair of assists and two digs, and freshman setter Kasey Thompson (Oak Lawn, Ill./Oak Lawn Community) recorded her first collegiate ace and first collegiate assist.
Saint Xavier (3-12/3-3 CCAC) returns to the Shannon Center to play Mount Mary University (Wis.) in a CCAC match on Tuesday, September 29. The match is slated for a 7:00 pm first serve in Chicago, Ill.
