-        Jimmy Smyth is entering his first year with the Cougars as a Graduate Assistant Coach in the 2022-2023 season.

-        Smyth played his first professional season in 2022 in the MLB Partnered League ‘Pioneer Baseball League’ for the Boise Hawks. Smyth served as a Utility player, playing both infield and outfield.

-        Smyth played for the Cougars in 2022 where he was First-Team All CCAC while leading the conference in runs scored and RBI’s. Smyth broke the SXU record of stolen bases without getting caught (32-32). Smyth pursued an MBA with a focus in Management.

-        Prior to SXU, Smyth received his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Marketing from Tennessee Wesleyan University in 2021. Smyth was an infielder for the #1 NAIA team in the nation and won the AAC Championship with the Bulldogs.

-        Prior to his two years at TWU, Smyth received his associates degree and played for local junior college perennial power South Suburban College in the 2018-2019 season.

-        From 2016-2021, Smyth worked as a coach and instructor at a high school travel organization based out of Alsip, Illinois. Smyth developed hundreds of athletes on hitting and infield play, trained athletes in strength and conditioning as well as speed and agility, and managed teams at the 18u level in the six-year span.
