· Peter Romsek is entering his third season with the Cougars after joining the staff in September of 2020. Romsek serves as the team’s hitting coach, infield coach, and recruiting coordinator.
· Under Romsek, the 2022 Cougar’s offense led the CCAC in every offensive category and ranked in the Top-25 in the NAIA in Batting Average, On-Base Percentage, Slugging Percentage, Hits, Doubles, Triples, Stolen Bases, RBI’s, and Runs. SXU also had 5 hitters earn All-Conference honors in 2022, and one player moved on to play professionally.
· In 2021, the Cougar’s had 2 hitters earn All-Conference honors and the confrence Freshman of the Year, while the offense ranked No. 6 in the NAIA in stolen bases (147) and No. 11 in total doubles (119). The defense also ranked No. 2 in the NAIA in total assists (564) and one infielder earned a CCAC Gold Glove Award.
· Prior to SXU, Romsek served as a graduate assistant baseball coach at Salem University (W.V.) where he received his MBA in Sports and Recreation Management. Romsek served as a graduate assistant coach during the 2020 season before being promoted to assistant coach/recruiting coordinator in July of 2020. While at Salem, Romsek worked as the team’s infield coach, assistant hitting coach, and 3rd base coach.
· Romsek has also had coaching stints as a Head Coach for the Lansing Loco’s in the Lemonade Collegiate League in 2020, and as an assistant coach at Olivet College (Mich.) in 2019.
· Romsek received his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus in entrepreneurial studies from Adrian College (Mich.) in 2018. Romsek was a middle infielder for the Bulldog’s and won the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championship every year at Adrian.
