Yanule is in his 26th year of coaching at Saint Xavier and 22nd season as the team’s offensive coordinator. 

Yanule directs a powerful offense that has broken nearly every SXU record over the last few years. In 2012, the Cougars ranked No. 3 nationally in total pass offense (3,866), No. 5 in the NAIA in pass offense per game (297.4) and No. 5 in total scoring (495). Following the 2014 season, he was named the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Mideast League Assistant Coach of the Year. He has earned Assistant Coach of the Year award five times with the Cougars (‘03, ‘09, ‘12 & '19) and is the only five-time winner of the award in the MSFA.

The Cougars have had at least on player since 2014 earn AFCA-NAIA All-American Honors. SXU also had the 2018 & 2019 MSFA Midwest League Offensive Player of the Year.

In 2011, the Cougars led the entire NAIA in both total pass offense (4,902) and total scoring offense (666) and second overall in scoring offense per game (44.4 ppg). 

Before coming to SXU, Yanule was offensive line coach at St. Francis (Ill.) from 1995-98. He was a two-year starter on the line at USF earning NAIA All-District 20 Second Team honors in 1993. He graduated in 1994 with a degree in communications. 

Yanule lives in Shorewood with his wife, Lisa. They have two daughters, Alexis and Alyssa, and a dog, Ruby.
