• Mike Feminis enters his 27th season as Head Coach of Saint Xavier Football in 2025, and during his tenure the Cougars have amassed a 219-88 record (.713).
• In 2011, Saint Xavier won the NAIA Football National Championship, the only national title for the University in any sport to date.
• Entering the 2025 season, Feminis is second in wins among active NAIA coaches and is the fourth winningest active head coach in college football across all divisions, and is tied for eighth on the NAIA's all-time coaching list, need just four more to move up to seventh. Feminis' .713 winning percentage is 8th all-time among coaches with 200 or more wins.
• Under Feminis’ leadership, the Cougars have captured 13 Mid-States Football Association championships, including eight outright championships. Saint Xavier has won six of the last seven MSFA Midwest League Titles with the COVID-19 season in the Spring of 2021 being the only blip during this period.
• SXU has qualified for the NAIA Football Championship Series 16 times since 2002, second to only Morningside University (Iowa).
• The Cougars have also reached the NAIA FCS semifinals five times during Feminis' tenure. In 2006, Saint Xavier made its first semifinal appearance by defeating Georgetown (Ky.) and Carroll (Mont.) for the first two playoff victories in program history. Those two programs had claimed the last six NAIA Football National Championships at that time.
• Feminis was the 2011 American Football Coaches Association’s NAIA National Coach of the Year. American Football Monthly and Schutt Sports named him NAIA Coach of the Year in both 2006 and 2010.
• Feminis is a nine-time MSFA Coach of the Year recipient and a two-time AFCA-NAIA Regional Coach of the Year in 2009 & 2023.
• Prior to the 2011 National Championship season, Feminis led SXU to back-to-back undefeated (11-0) regular seasons with both the 2009 & 2010 teams advancing to the NAIA Football Championship Series Semifinals and finishing 13-1 each season.
• Prior to SXU, Feminis coached at his alma mater, the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Ill. Feminis served as a linebacker coach from 1990-93 until moving up to defensive coordinator from 1994-98.
• As a player, Feminis started every game of his career at St. Francis, and was a four-time NAIA All-District 20 selection at linebacker.
• In 1989, Feminis was named the NAIA Defensive Player of the Year by USA Today, and earned NAIA All-American First Team honors.
• Feminis holds numerous school records at St. Francis, including most tackles in a game (29), and in a career (469).
• Feminis was inducted into the USF Athletics Hall of Fame in 1996, and his high school alma mater, Marian Catholic’s Hall of Fame in 2000.
• Feminis earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism/Communications from St. Francis in 1990, and a master’s degree in Physical Education/Athletic Administration from the University of Illinois-Chicago in 1993.
• Feminis has served the NAIA and MSFA in numerous capacities during his tenure. He served on the NAIA Executive Committee from 2002-09 and was president of the NAIA Coaches Association from 2007-09. In addition, Feminis has served on the NAIA Raters Committe since 2000 and the NAIA Hall of Fame Committee since 2020.
• Feminis resides in Plainfield, Ill. with his wife, Meredith, and daughters, Gianna, Francesca, and Sophia, along with their dog, Cougs.
