Abby Gentile (Blissfield, Mich./Lourdes/Blissfield) totaled a match-high tying 13 kills on a .435 attack percentage (13-3-23), however the Saint Xavier University women's volleyball team (9-8, 7-3) lost to Judson University (Ill.) in three sets (25-27, 16-25, 23-25) Tuesday night in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) action at the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill. Connie LeBel (Crestwood, Ill./DePaul/Ferris State/Mother McAuley) also finished in double-figures in kills with 11. She also had seven digs, an assist and a service ace for the Cougars.
- Junior setter Kaleigh Ritter (Tinley Park, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) handed out 31 assists with seven digs, two blocks (one solo) and an ace.
- Senior middle blocker Courtney Hunter (Bourbonnais, Ill./Bradley-Bourbonnais) tallied six kills, three digs and two blocks (one solo).
- Sophomore libero Ariel Hoskin (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove South) came away with seven digs, an assist and a service ace.
- Freshman setter Abbey Opilka (Dyer, Ind./Hanover Central) collected five digs and a team-best three aces.
- Sophomore defensive specialist Katie DeHaan (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) recorded five digs, two service aces and an assist.
- Sophomore middle blocker Nicole Grochola (Burbank, Ill./Reavis) registered three kills and two blocks (one solo), while outside hitter Jenny Jensen (Orland Park, Ill./Cardinal Stritch/Sandburg) chipped in a pair of kills.
Saint Xavier (9-8/7-3 CCAC) has a quick turnaround as they host No. 18 Indiana University Kokomo at the Shannon Center on Wednesday, October 11. The match is slated for a 6:00 pm first serve.
