CHICAGO – The Saint Xavier University women's soccer team (4-3-3, 2-3-1 CCAC) was shutout 1-0 by No. 19 Olivet Nazarene University on a rained-soaked Wednesday evening in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) action at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field in Chicago, Ill. It was just the second time this season that the Cougars were held scoreless. Overall, SXU had a slight advantage in shot attempts, 12-11, and had five shots on goal to ONU's two.
- Senior midfielder/defender Neida Ocampa (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Harper/Conant) finished the contest with a match-high five shot attempts, and she had three shots on goal.
- Sophomore midfielder Hailey Henry (Rockton, Ill./Hononegah Community) tallied a pair of shot attempts while playing the full 90 minutes.
- Freshman forward Alex Jonaitis (Naperville, Ill./Naperville Central) and junior forward Esmeralda Diaz (Chicago, Ill./Solorio Academy) each had a shot on goal, respectively.
- Freshman goalkeeper Natalie Dybas (La Grange, Ill./Lyons Township) made the start and saw 72:55 minutes of action. She took the loss and saw her record move to 3-2-2 in net this season.
- Junior goalkeeper Eden Suda (Western Springs, Ill./Governors State/Lyons Township) started the second half and logged 17:05 in goal along with a save before trading places with Dybas.
- The Tigers scored the lone tally of the contest in the 44th minute on a shot just out of the reach of Dybas.
Saint Xavier (4-3-3/2-3-1 CCAC) travels to Notre Dame, Ind. to face Holy Cross College (Ind.) in CCAC action on Saturday, October 14. The match is scheduled for an 11:00 am central start.
