CHICAGO – The Saint Xavier University men's soccer team (8-5-4, 6-4 CCAC) was shutout by Judson University (Ill.) Tuesday evening at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) action on a warm and windy night in Chicago, Ill. The Eagles had a slight edge in shot attempts, 13-9, and made seven saves to SXU's four. Despite the setback, Saint Xavier remains in the Top Four of the CCAC, in line to host a CCAC Tournament Quarterfinal match on Saturday, November 4.
- Senior midfielder Andy Lomeli (Dyer, Ind./Roosevelt/Valparaiso/Lake Central) and junior forward Pablo Guerrero (Berwyn, Ill./Morton West) each had two shot attempts and two shots on goal for the Cougars, respectively.
- Senior midfielder Bernardo Dominguez (Elgin, Ill./Rock Valley/Belvidere) tallied two shot attempts and he had one shot on goal.
- Graduate student goalkeeper Andres Zamora (Cicero, Ill./Morton East) made three saves with a goal allowed, and saw he record drop to 7-5-2 in 68 minutes in net.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Osvaldo Ramirez (Chicago, Ill./Goode STEM Academy) played 21 minutes with a save and a goal allowed.
- The Eagles had both of their goals recorded by senior midfielder Gabriel Trevisan.
- JU took the lead in the 11th minute off the foot of Trevisan from 25 yards out.
- Trevisan tallied his second goal of the match off a semi-breakaway, coming in from the left side in the 83rd minute from 10 yards out.
Saint Xavier (8-5-4/6-4 CCAC) takes on Trinity Christian College (Ill.) in a CCAC contest on Saturday, October 28 at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field. Prior to the match, SXU will honor its senior on 'Senior Day.' The match is scheduled for a 2:30 pm kickoff.
