CHICAGO – The Saint Xavier University women's volleyball team (9-7, 7-2) saw its seven-match winning streak come to an end, falling to Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) in five sets (22-25, 25-23, 25-23, 20-25, 14-16) Tuesday night in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play at the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill. Kaleigh Ritter (Tinley Park, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) finished with a season-high 49 assists, along with 19 digs, five kills, two service aces and a solo block. Junior outside hitter
Connie LeBel (Crestwood, Ill./DePaul/Ferris State/Mother McAuley) posted a team-high 19 kills with nine digs, an ace, an assist and a block.
- Senior middle blocker Courtney Hunter (Bourbonnais, Ill./Bradley-Bourbonnais) collected 13 kills, five blocks (two solos), two assists and a dig.
- Junior opposite hitter Abby Gentile (Blissfield, Mich./Lourdes/Blissfield) came away with 11 kills, seven digs, an assist and a block.
- Sophomore middle blocker Nicole Grochola (Burbank, Ill./Reavis) recorded six kills and a dig.
- Sophomore libero Ariel Hoskin (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove South) registered 17 digs and three assists.
- Freshman setter Abbey Opilka (Dyer, Ind./Hanover Central) scooped up 10 digs with a pair of assists.
- Sophomore defensive specialist Katie DeHaan (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) tallied six digs and a match-high four service aces.
- Freshman Kaylee Born (Plainfield, Ill./Oswego East) had four kills, two digs and a block, while sophomore outside hitter Jenny Jensen (Orland Park, Ill./Cardinal Stritch/Sandburg) chipped in four kills and two digs.
Saint Xavier (9-7/7-2 CCAC) takes the week off to prepare for a CCAC matchup with Judson University (Ill.) at the Shannon Center on Tuesday, October 10. The match is scheduled for a 7:00 pm start.
