Eleanor Harris (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove North) set a new career-high with 20 points on an efficient 9-for-12 shooting from the field to help lead the Saint Xavier University women's basketball team (3-4, 2-0 CCAC) to an 82-41 victory over Judson University (Ill.) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) competition Wednesday evening on Bob Hallberg Court in the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill. Alyssa Crenshaw (Algonquin, Ill./Dundee Crown) also had a big game for the Cougars as she made all seven of her shot attempts to finish with 14 points, along with two rebounds and an assist.
- Senior guard Bethany Baldwin (Watersmeet, Mich./Finlandia/Triton/Watersmeet) tallied nine points, a season-best five assists, five rebounds and three steals.
- Junior guard Jenna Hernandez (Homer Glen, Ill./Joliet Catholic Academy) collected nine points on 3-for-5 shooting from beyond the arc in 15 minutes off the bench.
- Freshman guard Emma Clark (Rockton, Ill./Hononegah Community) was 3-for-6 from deep for a career-high nine points. She added an assist and a rebound in 15 minutes.
- Junior guard Aaliyahna Derrell (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sand Creek) handed out six assists with five points, four rebounds and a pair of steals.
- Sophomore guard Jaidn Green (Evansville, Ind./Evansville North) grabbed a game-best seven rebounds. She also had five points, three assists and two steals.
- SXU forced 23 turnovers and came away with a season-high 15 steals that they converted into 28 points. They finished with a season-best 50.0 percent (9-for-18) three-point shooting percentage. Saint Xavier also shot at a 59.3 percent clip (32-for-54) for a new season-high.
- The Cougars never trailed in the contest and jumped out to a 13-0 lead to start the game. They held a 22-4 advantage after the first quarter and Harris scored eight points in the frame. SXU shot 72.7 percent (8-for-11) in the second period and built a 43-14 halftime lead.
- Saint Xavier continued its hot shooting in the third quarter, making 75.0 percent (9-for-12) of their shot attempts. Harris scored eight points, while Crenshaw added six points and Baldwin chipped in five points. The starters sat out the fourth period and Clark knocked down a pair of threes. Freshman guard Sarah Barakat (Hickory Hills, Ill./Stagg) posted five points, a rebound and a steal in 10 minutes.
Saint Xavier (3-4/2-0 CCAC) travels to University Park, Ill. to play Governors State University (Ill.) in a CCAC contest on Saturday, December 2. The game is scheduled for a 1:00 pm start.
