Sylvania, Ohio – Freshman opposite hitter Oskar Krzyzak (Rzeszow, Poland/Szkota Mistrzostwa Sportowego Rzeszow) posted his first collegiate double-double with 24 kills, tied for third-most in program history, and 11 digs with four blocks and three service aces, however the No. 12 ranked Saint Xavier University men's volleyball team (7-2/3-0 CCAC) lost in five sets (25-17, 23-25, 25-22, 23-25, 13-15) to No. 9 Lourdes University (Ohio) in an NAIA Top 15 contest Friday evening in Sylvania, Ohio. Krzyzak became just the ninth player in team history to record 20 or more kills in a match and the first since former NAIA All-American Grant Ooms (2020-22) had 22 vs. No. 6 Jamestown University (N.D.) last season on March 12, 2022. Krzyzak also set the single-match record for points in five sets with 29.0 and now ranks No. 2 for points in a match for SXU.

The Cougars also finished with 19.5 blocks on the night, tied for the second-most in single-match history for Saint Xavier. They set the record at Milwaukee School of Engineering (Wis.) when they had 21.0 blocks on March 15, 2011. SXU also had 29 block assists, fourth-most in single-match history.

• Freshman libero Andres Velez (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico/St. Francis) became just the fifth player to post 20 or more digs for the Cougars, finishing with 23 and now has the third most in a match for Saint Xavier.
• Freshman outside hitter Jan Lopuch (Krakow, Poland/I Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace Sportowe) collected 10 kills, a career-high six blocks (one solo), five digs, two aces and two assists.
• Sophomore outside hitter Kegan Olig (Fond du Loc, Wis./Fond du Loc) had a career-high seven blocks (one solo) and added seven kills.
• Senior setter Noah Randall (Plainfield, Ill./Quincy/Plainfield Central) recorded 43 assists and five digs.
• Junior middle blocker Jake McClain (Homer Glen, Ill./Marist) set a new career-high with nine blocks (two solos), tied for fourth-most in a five-set match, with three kills and two digs.
• Senior middle blocker Drew Ehlers (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) also set a new career-high in blocks with eight (one solo) and added three kills and two digs.

No. 12 Saint Xavier (7-2/3-0 CCAC) returns to conference play when they take on St. Ambrose University (Iowa) on Monday, February 20. The match is scheduled for a 7:00 pm first serve.
