Box Score CHICAGO – Freshman opposite hitter Oskar Krzyzak (Rzeszow, Poland/Szkota Mistrzostwa Sportowego Rzeszow) tied his season-high with five service aces and collected a match-best 10 kills along with six digs to help the No. 13 ranked Saint Xavier University men's volleyball team (10-3/6-0 CCAC) defeat Judson University (Ill.) in three sets (25-11, 25-23, 25-23) in a matchup of the top two teams in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Tuesday evening at the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill. The Cougars finished with 10 aces on the night, the fifth time this year that they have had 10 or more service aces in a match, and they posted a season-high six solo blocks.
- Junior middle blocker Jake McClain (Homer Glen, Ill./Marist) recorded six kills on a .500 attack percentage (6-1-10) and had four blocks (two solos).
- Sophomore outside hitter Kegan Olig (Fond du Loc, Wis./Fond du Loc) also had six kills and added three blocks (one solo) and a dig. He surpassed 200 career kills in the match, becoming the 23rd player at Saint Xavier to reach that milestone.
- Senior middle blocker Drew Ehlers (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) registered five blocks (three solos), four kills and a dig. His three solo blocks are tied for fourth most in single-match history for SXU and Ehlers is the first player to have three solos in match since he did so, also against Judson, almost one year to the day on March 1, 2022, in Elgin, Ill.
- Junior setter Jason Klein (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park-River Forest) issued 29 assists and set a new career-high in both blocks (two) and digs (six), along with a season-best of two aces.
- Freshman libero Andres Velez (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico/St. Francis) tallied a match-best 12 digs and added a service ace, while freshman outside hitter Jan Lopuch (Krakow, Poland/I Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace Sportowe) finished with four digs, three kills and an ace.
No. 13 Saint Xavier (10-3/6-0 CCAC) makes the trip to Milwaukee, Wis. to face Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.) on Friday, March 3. The match is scheduled for a 7:00 pm start.
