Box Score Palos Heights, Ill. – Despite a match-best 25 kills from freshman opposite hitter Oskar Krzyzak (Rzeszow, Poland/Szkota Mistrzostwa Sportowego Rzeszow), No. 11 Saint Xavier University men's volleyball (15-4/8-1 CCAC) lost in five sets (25-17, 18-25, 25-15, 24-26, 13-15) to Trinity Christian College (Ill.) in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) contest Tuesday evening in Palos Heights, Ill. Krzyzak's 25 kills are a career-high and the fourth-most kills in a match in program history and he added six digs, four blocks and a service ace. The loss snaps SXU's 34 match unbeaten streak in the CCAC, with their last conference loss coming on February 18, 2020, in a four-set setback at home vs. Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.).
- Freshman outside hitter Jan Lopuch (Krakow, Poland/I Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace Sportowe) recorded 17 kills and had four digs, three blocks and an ace.
- Junior setter Jason Klein (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park-River Forest) finished with 56 assists, tied for the second-most assists in a match in team history, along with four digs, two blocks, a kill and a service ace.
- Sophomore outside hitter Kegan Olig (Fond du Loc, Wis./Fond du Loc) posted seven kills and two digs.
- Junior middle blocker John Glennon (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) collected six kills, five blocks (one solo) and two digs.
- Junior middle blocker Jake McClain (Homer Glen, Ill./Marist) came away with five blocks, two kills and an ace.
- Freshman libero Andres Velez (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico/St. Francis) scooped up a team-best eight digs and had an assist and a service ace.
No. 11 Saint Xavier (15-4/8-1 CCAC) hosts Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) in CCAC action on Thursday, March 16 at the Shannon Center. The match is scheduled for a 7:00 pm start.
