Krzyzak Powers No. 11 SXU Past Olivet Nazarene in Four Sets

Box Score

Bourbonnais, Ill. – Freshman opposite hitter Oskar Krzyzak (Rzeszow, Poland/Szkota Mistrzostwa Sportowego Rzeszow) recorded a match-best 24 kills on a stellar .512 attack percentage (24-3-41) to guide the No. 11 ranked Saint Xavier University men's volleyball team (19-4/11-1 CCAC) to a four-set victory over Olivet Nazarene University (25-16, 25-18, 19-25, 25-21) in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) contest Tuesday evening Bourbonnais, Ill. Krzyzak added five digs, three blocks (two solos) and two service aces to put the Cougars in first place in the CCAC by one game with one match remaining in the regular season. It was the fourth time this season that he has had 24 or more kills in a match, setting a career-high with 25 kills last Tuesday at Trinity Christian College (Ill.).

SXU now holds an 11-1 record in conference play, and ONU and Judson both carry a 10-2 record. A win in their regular season finale and Saint Xavier would claim the regular season championship, earn a first-round bye in the CCAC Tournament and would host the semifinals and championship on March 31 and April 1.
