CHICAGO – The No. 13 ranked Saint Xavier University men's volleyball team (13-3/7-0 CCAC) defeated No. 10 Lourdes University in three sets (25-19, 25-22, 25-18) Tuesday evening at the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill. It was the second consecutive victory for the Cougars over an NAIA Top 15 opponent after they took down No. 11 University of Jamestown (N.D.) Saturday afternoon in La Crosse, Wis. at the Viterbo Tri-Match. Freshman opposite hitter Oskar Krzyzak (Rzeszow, Poland/Szkota Mistrzostwa Sportowego Rzeszow) led SXU with a match-best 14 kills on an impressive .600 attack percentage (14-2-20) and had five digs, two service aces and two solo blocks. The win gives Saint Xavier its first victory in the all-time series with the Gray Wolves in their 21st meeting.

• Freshman outside hitter Jan Lopuch (Krakow, Poland/I Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace Sportowe) tallied nine kills with six digs, three aces and a block.
• Junior middle blocker Jake McClain (Homer Glen, Ill./Marist) also had nine kills along with three blocks and two digs.
• Junior outside hitter Vejas Cuplinskas (Riverside, Ill./Riverside Brookfield) collected seven kills, five digs and two blocks.
• Junior setter Jason Klein (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park-River Forest) dished out a match-best 37 assists, had a career-high eight digs, one block and posted his first collegiate kill.
• Freshman libero Andres Velez (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico/St. Francis) scooped up a match-high 10 digs and added two assists, while senior middle blocker Drew Ehlers (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield North) chipped in three kills and two blocks (one solo).

No. 13 Saint Xavier (13-3/7-0 CCAC) hosts Campbellsville University (Ky.) at the Shannon Center on Saturday, March 11. The match is scheduled for a 2:00 pm first serve.
